"Lousy software that crashes and has no tech support"

    March 14, 2012  |   By charnish

    Version: iWork 4.1.3

    Pros

When it works, does a reasonable job of keeping track of my clients, invoicing them and keeping track of what they owe me.

    Cons

It's buggy and crashes a lot.
It sometimes mixes up my client files, putting invoices and charges form one client to another!!

    Summary

I've been using this crappy software for 6 or 8 years now and can't get out of it!
All my business records are in iBiz and can't be exported.

When it works, it's OK; keeps track of my clients, what I did for them and what they owe me and makes and sends out reasonable invoices, but the damn thing crashes about 2 or 3 times a day and the IGG tech support is non-existent.

I've called and emailed and been promised that the "Memory Leak" would be fixed.
I've been sending them notifications about when it crashes and my logs for months, trying to work with them to no avail.

I hate to give Vermonters a bad review but this is awful software.

"Fine when it works, NO support when it doesn't!"

    October 26, 2011  |   By sunjones33

    Version: iWork 4.1.3

    Pros

Simple app for time tracking for small businesses and multi users. You can easily track your employees time and have visibility for each client, enter various rates for each employee etc.

    Cons

LOTS of issues with the iBiz Pro software, and absolutely NO support from their so-called "tech support" team. After the iBiz client stopped connecting to the server last week we have tried 5 times to contact igg software and received zero response. No email responses, no responses on their software forum, and no phone number to call for help. Don't waste your valuable time and effort with this software.

"Unbelievable deal for what it does!"

    December 31, 2009  |   By dscardilli

    Version: iWork 4.1.1

    Pros

Inexpensive, but functional time-billing program that even a non-geek, like me, could get up and running in less than a day. I've used time-billing programs that cost thousands of dollars but are not as user-friendly.

    Cons

Needs a Practice management front end that integrates client intake, telephone/meeting notes and scheduling with the iBiz module. It has a banking add-on but my accountant uses Quick Books Pro, so no sale without seamless export to QBP.

    Summary

Good for solo attorneys, like me, who don't want to spend big $$ on practice management software. Not sure how this would fit into a firm, but I've never seen a firm where everyone uses a Mac. Needs front-end and back-end accounting integration. Nonetheless, it's a super deal for the price.

    "promising but not really there"

I tried this out for a few hours because I'm looking to switch and there was a very good deal on this app. Parts I love, the app tracking was very nice. Except that once you move one of the tracked items on to a job item you loose the original and the start stop time doesn't travel with it! It has some nice invoicing BUT if you want to do anything beyond the very basic you have to code your invoice in HTML. I do sound not web programing. Support seems to think if you don't know HTML then you shouldn't be using software. You can drop times from the app monitor or separate timers on to a billable item BUT in the info it doesn't show the times or dates. There are a number of "recalculate" buttons but clicking is a no-no. It will recalculate on info ONLY in that little section and you will loose ALL time info that you have entered. I REALLY wanted to like this app but I found it SO much easier to create inaccurate ugly invoices than accurate professional looking ones. And why does one get this kind of software in the first place?????????

Bought it. So happy I did. Ogg keeps improving it. It's like one night I'll think of an improvement. And the next day a new version is up with the improvement. I think I'll turn off ARD...

    "Cheaper than an accountant!"

    December 28, 2006  |   By Bill Dawson

    Version: iWork 3.0

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The only thing that could improve iBiz is if it did the work for you - and it almost does!

I've been using it since it was the original iWork (before Apple trademarked the name). It rocks!

I hate paperwork. I hate accounting. But I like to get paid. If you're an independant contractor, you know what a pain it is to keep your hours straight. I'd use iBiz just for that, but the invoicing module has come a long way. I use it exclusively.

Better still, it makes my tax preparation a snap. everything is in one place. I know how much I billed, how much I collected, even how much I paid to other consultants.

Not as good as an MBA, but a whole lot more affordable. Two thunbs up.

    "Too many bugs, poor support"

    November 20, 2006  |   By Smiling Heretic

    Version: iWork 3.0b10

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
    Bugs:
    1) duplicates events unexpectedly
    2) duplicates events in iCal
    3) duplicate iCal calendars in iBiz
    4) problematic manual time entry

These are the obvious ones, but there are many, many more.

Support seems to be down for the past five days... no response.

My advice? Don't buy this, try OfficeTime instead, it does all that iBiz does without the bugs!

    "Excellent Time Traker"

    November 2, 2006  |   By Brinen

    Version: iWork 3.0b9

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using iBiz (and its predecessors) for years. I've been through version one through this current beta, and the versions keep improving. This version - even though is still in beta - is incredibly build, stable, and ready for prime time. The revised invoicing section opens up a side of the program that was previously closed. While the choice of client specific billing versus project specific billing may seem to be a unique one, the billing side makes logical sense. I would never give money back on one project while another project was owing.

i've been running a law office of five attorneys and support staff on this for years, and I have found it to be a wholly reliable program.

I reccomend it to my clients and my colleagues without reservation.

    Good job!
