Along with its effective and easy-to-use firewall protection, ZoneAlarm with Antivirus adds virus features and security controls. The most notable improvements in this latest release are enhanced virus detection and an Auto-Learn function to minimize unnecessary security alerts.
ZoneAlarm's wizard makes firewall configuration and maintanence incredibly easy, with a stylish interface and simple slider controls. The app boasts an ultrasecure triple-layer firewall and experts will appreciate the customizing options. The Zones feature allows you to assign different security levels for local networks and the Internet. The program was very good at automatically including our local network settings and auto-detected wireless machines. In all our tests, the firewall held strong against all threats it encountered.
Beyond the firewall function, ZoneAlarm with Antivirus includes an antivirus scanner, based on Computer Associates' Vet Anti-Virus, that blocks both incoming and outgoing viruses. The most intriguing aspect of this feature is its Advanced Heuristic Detection algorithm, which uses behavior analysis to detect suspicious actions caused by brand-new viruses that haven't yet made it into the virus-definitions database. Though this version of ZoneAlarm lacks the privacy and identity features of the Pro version, users who are satisfied with their existing privacy-protection tools may find ZoneAlarm with Antivirus fits their needs.

Version: ZoneAlarm Anti-virus 7
"Good anti-virus but still has issues."
Pros: Here, you get my favorite anti virus,"Kaspersky" but, it comes with a firewall that slows down your system. The anti virus in "Zone Alarm 7.1" applications is a huge improvement over the "CA Anti-Virus" found in older versions. The business deal to partner with "Kaspersky" was great for both companies. The detection, removal, scan engine and guard technology are now, much improved in this application. It works great on a powerful computer with a "Vista" operating system. Nice GUI and it has many options. The firewall is good for a software application. But, I'd like to see an offering as a stand alone, without the firewall.
Cons: But my thinking is the firewall slows down the application substantially and causes issues with an "XP" system. I don't doubt the complaints posted in other reviews one bit. I'm not sure why all "Zone Alarm" applications all include the firewall but they all do. "Zone Alarm Pro", "Zone Alarm Anti-Virus" and "Zone Alarm Anti- Spyware" and of course the internet security suite. This application is just to darn heavy and still needs some work.

"((( The Best I have used by far )))"
Pros: Other Antivirus and firewalls were slowing down my pc.Since installing ZA , I have never had any conflicts.I am using windows XP2.Windows shuts down quickly, and starts quickly. From pressing the "on" button to actually get on line is around 2 and a half minutes. When I had Norton it took around 5 or 6 minutes. ZA has caught all viruses in seconds.I actually forget it's there sometimes.
My pc purrs along just fine. The Firewall is the best there is.I ran a firewall test (from a good source) and it came out perfect.I will be using ZA until my pc is ready for the scrap heap.I have seen that others were having conflicts? Not me, Guess i'm lucky.
It's the one for me!

"Best All-In-One Anti-Virus & Spyware"
Pros: I have used McAfee, Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0, Kaspersky, and many others for testing to detect Anti-Virus files and Spyware, and none compare to Zone Alarm Security Suite.
You do need at least 2 GB of RAM to run the full verison of Zone Alarm Security Suite, without having it bogging down other programs on your computer. So Yes it is a memory hog, but for a good reason. Overall it will use around 128 MB of RAM, but again like I said, you will not be dissappointed.
Zone Alarm is made by the Security company Check Point based in Tel Aviv Israel. Check Point has been making the Best firewalls for the past 16 years and they are not going away anytime soon. So tell me, why would you not want your computer protected by Zone Alarm made by the #1 Security firewall company in the world?
