Urban VPN for Windows

Urban VPN is a free virtual private network (VPN) application that aims to enhance internet speed and security. It operates on a peer-to-peer (P2P) structure, enabling users to connect to a network of 81 servers. This application allows users to bypass geographic restrictions, notably for platforms like US Netflix and Amazon Prime Video, making it appealing for streaming content. The app is straightforward to use, requiring no account creation and offering unlimited bandwidth for its users, which is a significant advantage for casual browsing and streaming.

Despite its benefits, Urban VPN presents challenges in terms of security and performance. The P2P architecture means that users share processing power, which can lead to compromised anonymity and inconsistent connectivity. The application also collects user data to facilitate its services, raising privacy concerns. Additionally, while it can unblock certain streaming services, users may encounter difficulties accessing others, such as Disney+, and the presence of ads in the free version may detract from the overall experience.
