To paraphrase a line from Wolverine, the Windows 7 Start Button Changer is the best there is at what it does. And what it does is very simple: it changes your Windows 7 Start button. A one-hit wonder that should appeal to the customizing fanatic, the lightweight program provides two buttons on its simple interface: it allows you to easily change your Start button, and it allows you to back up your current one.
Click the Select & Change button to open a file browser to choose your new Start button icon. If you're not sure where to get one, the art Web site DeviantArt is a good place to start. Press the Restore Original Explorer Backup to make a backup of your existing one, and restore it when you tire of your customization.
The noninvasive tool doesn't need a glitzy interface, but could benefit from shorter button names and clearer indications that the buttons are actually buttons. Small hangups aside, this is an easy way to add a bit more of your personal style to your Windows 7 computer.

"Great app and simple to use"

Pros
Run as admin, point to your custom pics, click OK. Done.
Cons
Errors when not run in Admin mode are not graceful.
Summary
Some reviewers are complaining that the program must be run as admin, when it clearly indicates that in the description before you even download it. If you follow the directions, the program works perfectly. I've been using this program for several years now (since win7 first came out) and have had no issues with it. It's easy, if you can read.
