VueMinder Calendar Pro provides a set of useful if unexceptional tools to help busy people stay organized. With a simple way to set reminders and tasks, this is a helpful program with a few special features that help it stand out from the crowded field of planning calendar software.
VueMinder's interface feels familiar and simple to operate from the first moment you open it. The layout reminded us of Microsoft Outlook's calendar system, which means all the command buttons were familiar, and we never needed to consult the Help file for instructions. We were able to insert important dates and time-sensitive tasks into a month-view calendar by filling out a few simple fields. In addition, we could set priorities and color-code our events. The program's strongest point was its reminder function. You can easily set a specific date and time for an onscreen pop-up window to remind you of whatever it was you didn't want to forget. You can also customize the reminder with a sound or image. These parts all combine to make a fine if unspectacular calendar system. VueMinder comes into its own with a special feature that will email or text-message a reminder to your cell phone, which is an exciting twist on typical reminder programs. This program's main functions work well, but they weren't anything special. However, we feel its features take it to another level.
VueMinder Calendar Pro has a 30-day trial period. Since it provides adequate calendaring and excellent reminders, we definitely recommend this program.
Are you looking for a powerful, yet simple-to-use, program to help you manage your schedule and remember important dates? Look no further, because VueMinder Pro is the solution. Forget the traditional wall calendar or calendar+email office suites. Those may help you schedule an appointment, but do little to help you keep track of the data that drives your schedule, or visualize how your schedule appears based on event priorities, categories, or locations. For those capabilities, you need software specifically designed with a clear focus on providing the best scheduling solution available. With VueMinder Pro, you can define events, tasks, notes, and contacts - and then easily link those with other data items or files. The data items can be organized into multiple calendars and selectively layered or filtered in a variety of calendar views and lists, as well as an interactive component that seamlessly integrates into the Windows desktop and provides quick access to upcoming events and tasks. If you have a smartphone and would like to access your schedule on the go, VueMinder Pro syncs 2-way and instantly with Google Calendar, which can then sync with your phone. You can also sync with calendars in Outlook and import/export data using a variety of file types, such as iCalendar (ics), Excel, and text files. In addition, calendars can be saved to web pages for viewing in a web browser. Calendar sharing over a local network is also included, complete with permissions and secure storage. You can even share reminders, or define which people should receive a reminder for an event. VueMinder is packed with many other innovative features to help make organizing your schedule easy. Included are many simple touches, like showing details when hovering the cursor over an item, the ability to undo accidental dismissal of reminders, a dynamically updating print preview, and reminders that can be sent via email, SMS, or voice phone to yourself or others.
What's new in this version:
- Added the ability to send meeting request reminders. This feature can be enabled by checking the "Send as a meeting request" box when configuring an email reminder for an event or task. It can also be enabled as a default.
- Added the ability to schedule reminders (email, SMS, and voice phone) to be sent after an event ends or a task is due, if the event or task isn't marked as completed before the scheduled reminder time.
- Corrected a problem with VueMinder sometimes not... See all new features

"Does not sync with Outlook"
Version: VueMinder Pro 10.1.9
Small calendar on desktop
Shows birthday age
Does not sync correctly with Outlook 13, will not update changed or deleted appointments only replaces them in Outlook. I reported this issue on the forum several times(the forum is now missing from the website) and to support but have not received any response. It worked for Outlook 10 and I purchased after receiving an email that stated Vueminder had been updated to now sync with Outlook 13. It will sync, at the beginning, but not if any changes are made. Very disappointing, as I purchased the lifetime support option. I uninstalled and reinstalled Vueminder and deleted and replaced the Outlook calendar but still does not work. Since the forum is now gone there does not seem to be any other options to get help. Not worth the money as it is the same as any other desktop calendar for Windows 8. I am now using the free PTBSync because Vueminder is just another expensive useless piece of software.
"Best calendar program I've tried, better Customer Serv!"
Version: VueMinder Pro 9.1.1
The flexibility of the program. Its interface google calendars and ability to display separate calendars. The ability to change the display window size on the week and month size of each day. Its the most powerful calendar program I'v seen yet surprisingly easy to use. The varied reminder formats, the color schemes, the display formats, I could go on, but I've got to get back to work. I've tried 9 other window based, a half dozen ipad based, and a few palm based calendars, and this is the best.
Every time I found something I didn't like, I learned there was another way to do it that matched my tastes and goals.
If there is any Con, it is that the program is more flexible and powerful than we as a user can initially perceive.
I have a route based business and I'm a full time college student using Google Calendars and an Ipad. Vueminder has become by interface for everything. I'm very happy with the program.
But here is the best thing about the program; the customer service. I don't know how the developer does such a good job responding to questions, but I've never seen a better job done of it. I recommend Vueminder as a product for its functionality, and the fantastic support.
"Pro version is pretty useless over LAN"
Version: VueMinder Pro 9.1.1
Does what you'd want from a basic calendar/task manager.
The Pro version cannot share tasks and notes over LAN, only events. This seems like a bit of a scam, just limiting functionality to sell the higher priced package rather than offering additional functionality in the higher priced (Ultimate) package.
Pretty useless if you're planning on sharing over a LAN.
"Decent beta wear - not ready for prime time"
Version: VueMinder Pro 9.0.3
You'll get what you paid for - unreliable and starts freezing after you put more than 10 or 12 items on your calendar. Tech support is mostly auto-generated email replies.
The free sample version of VueMider is a good free sample but paying for VueMinder Pro is a no go.
"Beautiful,many features but unreliable"
Version: VueMinder Pro 9.0.3
Very feature-rich, beautiful. Has almost everything I need.
Unreliable. Google sync only works about every third release. Recurring reminders suddenly disappears.
If I only could rely on it, It would be the best calender software, and I would give it a five star!No problems with recurring reminders anymore.I would give it a four star today.
Updated on May 9, 2012
Version: VueMinder Pro 8.4.1
Lots of customizations, nice layout.
Outlook sync does not work; random events are dropped or erased. Importing from Outlook (2003 or 2007)does not work at all, either directly, or via csv file.
Can't rely on a calendar that won't reliably store events; syncing with Outlook doesn't work.
"Best Combination of Easy of Use & Powerful Features"
Version: VueMinder Pro 8.3
DETAILS PANE of ALARMED/REMINDER TASKS can include a link to a file. File can be set to open at Start Time. Email reminders.
Works well on Windows 7 64. Easy to configure. Attractive multiple layouts. Great search feature.
The tray icon looks wimpy. Main toolbar icons are a little small on my screen and enlarging them makes them look fuzzy. I spent 15 minutes trying to come up with things I don't like about this program and this is all I could find.
FAVORITE FEATURES OF VMC.
The program loaded to my Windows 7 64 Dell computer without any problems. Three other calendars were added using the Wizard during initial configuration and they work without a glitch. The program runs quickly. It seems solid as a rock. Changing the appearance and settings was easy.
Moving on to features, there are 16 attractive themes and every one of VMC's many many features is designed exceptionally well. The features are where I expect them to be, they are easy to use, attractive, uncluttered, and powerful.
For my business, the best features are:
DETAILS PANE. This pane is GREAT. It includes the link to the file I need to work on and contains space for lots of notes. The layout of the Details Pane is perfect. Clicking the down arrow lets me move through upcoming Tasks. A file can be set to open at the Start Time.
The Details Pane can be moved. With the Month displayed, and the tabbed Events/Tasks/Notes/Contacts lists shown at the bottom of the screen below the month, and the Day to the right, I moved the Details Pane to cover the Day section of the screen. I like being able to see the whole month. Then the next level of detail for me is not the Day, but the upcoming Tasks in order with a link to the file.
The Details Panel by itself with its super layout and link to the file is worth every penny of the purchase price. The alarm/reminder function allows me get to the file quickly.
TABBED EVENTS/TASKS/NOTES/CONTACTS. At first when I saw these items across the bottom of the screen at the bottom of the Month-view, I thought I would not like it, but after using it for a little while, it makes good sense and is a good way to separate these items.
SEARCH FEATURE. If there are Tasks titled "ProjectA Custom," and "ProjectA Special," searching for ProjectA Custom will return ProjectA Custom, but not ProjectA Special. This is exactly what I want because Tasks may have similar words in the title and I do not want them returned in a specific search.
VueMinder Calendar is the best calendar program I have found after an extensive search. I have tried at least 10 calendar programs in the past few years and also use and like Swift To-Do List 7 Pro which has -- as its name implies -- a slightly different emphasis.
For me, Microsoft Outlook 2010 is too cluttered and burdensome.
MY SITUATION. In my work, people seldom come to my office and I seldom leave the office for meetings. So, those events/appointments are easy for me to calendar -- and I do not use an electronic calendar for those items. All my work comes by e-mail which results in a saved file and then a project with many more files.
WHY I NEED AN ELECTRONIC CALENDAR. Keeping track of when work needs to be done on a file is the reason I have been looking for a great calendaring program.
I wanted a link to a file on an alarmed calendar TASK. I wanted the calendar to display other Public and Subscribed Calendars. I have included this information so people who may be looking for the same things I have been looking for in a calendar will give VMV a try. Of course, everyone is different and personal preferences drive what we think is best. People who want to be reminded of a file will each want what works best for them.
VMC is so flexible and well designed, a far greater number of people will love it for different reasons. They will need just the opposite of what I want, but still consider VMC the best calendar available.
And, as far as I could tell the free trial version works just like the paid version. I was able to give it a good workout before buying.
"Not what I need"
Version: VueMinder Pro 8.1.1
Please see below.
Please see below.
Seems like a good product but is not what I need. Thank you for letting me try it.
Version: VueMinder Pro 8.1.1
I think it's a great program. It has enough to keep you reminded about the important dates and is easy to use.
None that I can think of at the moment.
I think it's a rock-solid program with lots of features--even in the free program. I purchased the Pro version, but I think a lot of people can get by with the free version, as well.
"Perfect, exactly what I'm looking for"
Version: VueMinder Pro 7.4.3
Printable event calendars
ability to add events right from the calendar view
choice of viewing different saved event calendars
None that I'm aware of
My wife wants a simple printable calendar program that she can add events to and print a monthly view to hang on the fridge. She's a long time user of Calendar Creator Plus which is an old piece of Windows 95 software that I can't install anywhere else any longer - it's time to retire that computer. Once I confirm that it prints the way she needs I'll be happy and I'll upgrade to the pro version even though I don't need those features. This fits the bill perfectly plus it's loaded with all kinds of default events. My particular favorite is the NFL schedule and the ability to pick your favorite team's schedule.
