From Venta :VentaFax is a fax/voice messaging software. It sends and receives faxes, and converts your PC with a fax-modem into a versatile answering machine with remote control. User interface is friendly and intuitive. Version 5.54 build 23 features are: if the document's filename contains two # characters, the characters between them are interpreted as the receiving fax phone number; the limitation on the Note field length in the cover page templates is removed; several errors are fixed, including the MS Outlook Address Book read error that resulted in the "Interface not supported" message.

"the program is incompatible with cable internet connection."
Cons: NO CONNECTION AVAILABLE THROUGH CABLE INTERNET. THERE IS NO GUIDED TOUR. THERE ARE OTHER FREE FAX PROGRAMS WITHOUT TRIAL TIME LIMIT THAT ARE EASY TO USE.

"Almost TOO much for the money!"
Pros: This is the only adequate replacement I've found for my orphaned CyberGenie. It is very customizable, right down to recording and playback audio settings, log books, interface colors and use of Outlook (including 2003) for dialing phone and fax numbers. The product I previewed immediately prior, FaxTalk Messenger Pro was much easier to set up and use, but FaxTalk's log books didn't log successful incoming (answered) and outgoing phone calls - only faxes and voice mails...totally unacceptable to one who bills phone support by length of call!
Cons: Outlook is read-only, so you may not modify the contact info...but that's not a huge issue. The real con is the pro - this program is so customizable, plan to spend hours ooing and ahing as you find all the delightful, but elusive, tweaks. User manual, no, but help (and a lot of it) is available on-screen - it sometimes requires one to put on one's programmer's hat to understand it. I am glad, as it turned out, that I bought the Business version BEFORE trying the voice mail - it sounded SO BAD that I would have uninstalled the trial version without another thought. But, by tweaking the audio formats and compression options, I found two completely different settings, one for incoming voice mails and one for outgoing greetings, that made both incoming and outgoing recordings sound far better than ANY analog or digital computer telephony, phone company voice mail system or stand-alone answering machine that I have EVER used. This is a quality product from a PhD in Russia and the American English is perfect. I hope that Bush and Putin stay friends, because updates are free!

Summary: Program can be a bit funky sometimes, overload my memory capability, etc. but I have always had issues with new software, using my lame version of Win98 O/S; so I cannot blame the program.
