"A perfect collection of Tools to recover your down PC"
Version: UBCD4Win 3.50
Pros
Easy to boot and run in a familiar Windows environment as opposed to Linux, which I am not as knowledgeable about.
Cons
They warned that building the Boot CD with an OEM version of Windows could spell trouble. They were right, I could not get it to build correctly with a Dell version of Windows XP SP2.

"Live Windows CD much like a Live Linux CD e.g. Knoppix"
Version: UBCD4Win 3.50
Pros
It tells you how Windows XP will work on your computer, and it is good for backing up and some repair work If you like working with Wndows XP you'll like working with this
Cons
If you don't like working with Windows XP you won't like this. Some necessary restrictions applied to keep the wraith of Microsoft from descending on the makers of this, it isn't installable on a hard-drive, it turns itself off after 24 hours.
Summary
The program is a functional live CD of Windows XP, I don't if these developers are planning something for Windows 7 or not. It has restrictions that an open source live Linux CD wouldn't have. If there weren't netbooks out there with XP on them, Microsoft would dump XP like it has Windows 98. This is not a cheery thought! I do believe you have to have an original copy of Windows XP installation disk (or jump through some hoops) to get this program installed on a CD.
Once you get it set up, it does work nicely. It's fun to see just what ancient computers Windows XP will run on. The backup programs work It's a good way to test out your network connections. Many other programs that are on the CD, I haven't tested out. A word of warning, depending how old your Windows XP installation disk is and how new your computer is, I would wonder if some very unpleasant things could happen to a monitor without the necessary drivers?
This does give Windows fans a live CD of their own. I see there is a later version than 350 out, I would hope that it gets uploaded here? -
"A must have, I keep this on a bootable memory stick"
Version: UBCD4Win 3.50
Pros
This has bailed me out more than once! I keep it on a bootable usb drive. Sooner or later it happens to all of us. A virus slips through or I download the wrong file and get locked out of my system. I just boot from my usb drive and fix it
Cons
It is not fool proof. I suggest that you familiarize yourself with the individual applications and keep them up to date.

"CRASHES MY SYSTEM"
Version: UBCD4Win 3.50
Pros
I heard a lot of good things about this utility. How it can do wonders and even restore a computer at the drop of a hat. T0o bad it didn't work.

The UBCD4WIN has issues with anti-virus software. Avast says that it contains a dangerous file which is not necessary a virus but a problem nonetheless. Furthermore, each time I try to run or click onto the file it completely freezes my system.
