"Intuit offers up a big frack you."

Pros
Flexibility to work either form by form, line by line, or follow their wizard-like prompts and let the program put numbers in the right places. It will also reference previous years' returns prepared with this software and is careful to reference the same tax situations you had in the past. It also does a sort of "audit alert" by checking your return for the kinds of things the IRS looks for the trigger an audit. I've found this program to make filing a tax return as painless as possible, and it asks all the same questions a paid preparer would.
Cons
After using the program over 15 years, all the way back to MacInTax days, Intuit has offered up a big frack you. It won't run on OS 10.6.8, and my Mac won't run a newer OS.
Summary
I'm not a PC owner. I'm not used to this kind of abuse. Time to move on.

"Intuit does not care about OSX"

I wish there was some advantage...

I have used this program for over 15 years (since MacInTax days). Intuit does not like OSX - they have killed - or greatly degraded all of their OSX software. (Quicken Essentials? Really? Excel is more useful as a financial program.)
Thus, it is not worth continuing to use Intuit software. If I need to move, so be it.Summary
Intuit software for OSX will always be second rate. Go elsewhere and don't get trapped with years of data you can't make use of.

"Not for Macs"

Pros
They offered to upgrade me to Premier from Deluxe for free after program froze up and lost data. Same problem with Premier on the Mac with latest operating system.
Cons
There are lots of complaints from other Mac users and I am looking for a different software. Same problem that it freezes up after inputing data and then will not print or Save.
Summary
Find another software for a Mac.
