When you're a freelancer or consultant getting paid by the hour, time is very literally money. TimeTotal provides a quick way for PocketPC users to keep track of exactly how much time they're spending on a project. It allows users to set up multiple projects, with each one associated with its own hourly billing rate. Pushing the start button sets the timer running, and the stop button pauses it. Several timers can be run simultaneously, which we found a bit confusing. Switching between projects to start another timer running doesn't turn off the first one, which could lead to double billing if a user isn't diligent about stopping one timer before starting another. The PocketPC version doesn't have as many features as similar PC-based applications, but does come with its own PC version that can be used to view and edit the recorded data.
