CNET Editors' review
This fine pop-up blocker won us over with its effective performance and unexpected extra features. Since Super Ad Blocker sits in your system tray and can be added to your Internet Explorer toolbar, it's convenient to access no matter what you're doing.
The application's logically organized main window is split into tabs for ad blocking, history cleaning, cookies, statistics, notification, and options. In our tests, the program did an excellent job of quashing all types of pop-ups, banner ads,Flash ads, and Google ads when using both Internet Explorer and Firefox. You can add allowed sites to a whitelist.
This program's antispyware tool performed quite well, stopping the vast majority of adware that tried to run on our system. The malware scanner also did a decent job. Beyond its prowess with pop-ups, Super Ad Blocker also lets you clear your Web-surfing and Windows histories. You also can view statistics on blocked-ad types and frequencies.
Users who need a high-performance pop-up blocker, spyware protection, a history cleaner, or all three certainly will benefit from Super Ad Blocker.
Publisher's Description
From SuperAdBlocker:
Super Ad Blocker blocks all forms of advertising, including Flash ads, rich media, fly-ins, slide-ins, pop-ups, pop-unders, spyware and adware ads, and messenger ads. The program blocks over 1,000,000 major spyware applications, sponsored search-engine ads, and Gmail-sponsored links, and it includes advanced privacy cleaning and automatic updates, so the product is never outdated. Super Ad Blocker provides detailed statistics for the number and type of ads blocked. The application plays a fun sound when an ad is blocked to celebrate your victory. The scanner features a kernel level driver designed to help detect and remove 'rootkit' style infections. The ad-blocking now blocks IntelliText ads that appear on Web pages as double underlined words that show a window when hovered over.

"Delivers as promised."
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
Ads instantly blocked after download. Works great. Would recommend to everyone who gets sick and tired of the ads on Facebook!
Cons
I don't have any cons about this program.
Summary
Great program that works as promised.

"grossly out of date"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
nice design and lots of features, but not current
Cons
has not been updated in several years and does not even support IE 8 or Windows 7. This should be removed from CNET. It is a joke. Uninstall left ALL kinds of traces in the system and windows registry. I used system restore to get rid of it.
Summary
Definitely would not recommend to anyone.

"Useless Ad Blocker"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
There are no PROS. CNET's review of this software is so out of date.
Cons
It does not work with IE 9, Firefox, nor Chrome. It has not been updated for the last 3 years, if not more. The trail software you can download, version 4.6 does work with any of the fore mentions broswers. If you are a registered version you can download version 5 beta, which does not work with the fore mentioned either.
Summary
Save you money, and do not buy this app.
CNET. You need to get your reviews up to date. You are offering your readers false reviews for this software. I hate to think which other applications you offer reviews for which are just as out of date. -
"2012 crashes web browser and system lockups, BEWARE !"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
there have been no pros for me, except that I learned that CNET's reviews are not indexed well in search results, who's fault is that? CNET or the Search Engines?
Cons
the 5 star rating on here and search results given to it when using "standard" search engines
Summary
this badly needs an update, I would attempt to contact the publisher to see if there is a fix for compatibility with different browsers on windows, maybe xp or vista it works fine who knows... but this is not good enough, the review is from 2008 but seriously, it needs to be fixed

""Lifetime" subscription expired; no customer support"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
I have used this program for years with several versions of Windows and IE. It has worked pretty well in blocking ads and cleaning up spyware.
Cons
For the last several months, I have been getting a pop-up notice that I need to pay more money to get updates, even though I bought the lifetime subscription. The company has ignored several customer service requests, and the phone number listed for them is out of service.
Summary
I wouldn't recommend getting this program now.

"Didn't need it"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
I don't use IE
Cons
not applicable
Summary
would not recommend

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS SOFTWARE!"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
ABSOLUTELY NONE!
Cons
CONTAINS MALWARE!
Summary
I don't know what it is about this site, but they seem to hawk problematic software. I've had it with C-NET. This recent episode is the final straw. I recommend staying away from this junk software.

Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
Worked great with Win XP but updating ceased having any relevance
Cons
Orphaned by its developers. See my recent exchange:

I have Win7 ultimate pro, using Google Chrome and I assume that my program had become permanently useless, as I see no plans to ever have you issue a release for either Win 7 or Google chrome. Is there any development being done?

Hi Jamie,
I am not sure what the developers are working on at the moment but they are certainly aware.

For less money there are several excellent programs available. Check CNET and Google. $19.95 will get you the ad muncher with a 30 day free trial. I downloaded it last night and have not seen any more ads or auto start videos. So in two words: It Sucks.

"Works well but has one extremely annoying feature"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
Blocked most pop-up/unders really well
Cons
I like the "Open in New Tab" feature in IE 8 but for some dumb reason it is disabled, only "Open in New Window" is there and I prefer tabbed browsing to the point that I won't use this program until tabbed browsing is restored.
Summary
FOOEY!

"Does not block ads and messes up tabs"
Version: Super Ad Blocker 4.6
Pros
None. It doesn't work.
Cons
Removes saved tabs in Firefox. Doesn't block banner ads, which it says it does.
Summary
Not only did it NOT block banner ads (which it said it did - I already have a pop up blocker so don't need that and don't know if it did that at all) - but it removed all my saved tabs in Firefox. I had all those tabs up for a reason, and now I'm going to have to spend hours figuring out what they were again. I really hate this product. Norton told me it was a bad program, and I didn't believe it so I disabled Norton and continued the install, and now I seriously regret that.
