"RIP OFF Unless $15.99 srvce fee p/mnth isn't too much."

September 17, 2014  |  By robinm7161

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

None unless you are rich and have someone else doing you mailing.

Cons

You pay 15.99 a month to use their service. How is that a deal. You still have to pay for the stamps and materials to print them on.

Summary

I would not use this service for any reason. If you are that wealthy that you can pay this service and pay for the materials and stamps you probably have someone doing your mailing for you already.

"Terrible service; rip-off and its hard to unsubscribe"

May 11, 2014  |  By dvit123

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

There are none

Cons

expensive, they make it hard to unsubscribe, they try to hide the $15 monthly fee

Summary

Stamps.com is an overall terrible service. I hope that people read this review before using this scandalous service.

First off, Stamps.com is an incredible rip-off. Before you sign up for stamps.com, realize that you are paying REGULAR PRICES for stamps. There is no discount for anything and even if there is, it is very small. So yes, you are paying $15 per month for no reason PLUS the price of the stamp. You will likely not even use $15 worth of fuel going to the post office; and the leftover money that you don't use for fuel to go to the post office will compensate for the time (about 5 to 10 minutes) you took to go to there. Massive rip-off. $15 per month for printing paper at home.

Also, they are not clear on how much you will be charged for their "services." Yes, if you look very closely it will say that they will charge you. However, it does not say anywhere on their homepage that they charge you monthly, and they will only tell you when you enter your credit card information.

Finally, the unsubscribing process. Somehow, you can register online and they have a software that can send out emails automatically and has many other rather advanced features, but for some reason you absolutely cannot unsubscribe online. No sir. You have to call them between the hours of 6am to 6pm Monday through Friday. Now, lets think about this. First, why should we have to call you to unsubscribe? I have not heard of any online service that requires you to call to unsubscribe. If stamps.com has a customer that is dissatisfied with their services, should the customer not be allowed to easily unsubscribe online rather than having to call stamps.com? Secondly, the strategy is very obvious. "No we will not allow you to unsubscribe online, you have to call us so we can convince you by reducing the price you pay or sell you another one of our services." What an annoying strategy.

"VERY MISLEADING!!"

March 17, 2014  |  By jaguar10books

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

Very misleading offer!

Cons

Was offered a deal of $40.00 free postage, $5.00 in supplies, and a free scale. Then found out after signing up that I had to pay $9.99 in postage for the scale and the free postage came in $10.00 increments for 4 months. Also found out that I had to pay $14.99 a month for the service. They said this info was all on the website when I signed up but I didn't see (and others didn't either from the reviews I've been seeing.) I only found out about it from the e-mails I received after signing up. I now use Endicia for $9.99 a month. No free postage but better service.

Summary

Choose Endicia!

"MISLEADING SERVICES"

March 04, 2014  |  By loloonthebridge

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

Nothing to say

Cons

I bought some labels on their website on september 2012 and since then, I had no idea that I would be charged 15.99$ every month. I didn't subscribe clearly to their Pro Plan. This website is not transparent and very misleading. I got caught (maybe because I'm not accustomed with this service and English is not my first language) but I read I was not the only one. Watch out !
I asked them to be reimbursed for more than the one year services I've never used but off course they refused. Yet, they proposed to reimburse the only two last months. I hope they will do it. At the same time, I closed my account.

"Scammers.."

Pros

NONE

Cons

THIS IS A CON SERVICE.

Summary

I discovered hidden recurring charges. Called in to cancel and they said they would charge an extra cycle. I put a hold on my credit card from paying these guys anything. They somehow got the number of my second card that I never gave them and charged there. These guys are cons.

"Watch Out! Scammers!"

December 18, 2013  |  By shamanot

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

Never used their service so I don't know.

Cons

Will continue to bill you even if you have no current payment method. My business closed down along with my business banking account. They never called, never asked for a new payment method, no letter, nothing. Just charged me each month. Didn't find out for several months after my business closed that they were silently billing my Stamps.com account. Then when I found out and tried to close my account they said they were sending me an invoice with the amount owed. I never even used their service...

Summary

This is a total con.

"Would give it NO stars if possible"

November 18, 2013  |  By Sema7

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

None that I know of.

Cons

They took my money and refused to refund it, even though I bought nothing. I spoke to a supervisor who said their policy is that the money is non-refundable. I had no idea they would be charging me a monthly fee; if it's on their website, it is NOT transparent. I'm pretty computer literate and don't usually get caught like this, but they managed to do it. And it was too late to get it back from the credit card company, as I've already paid that bill. This company should not be in business; they make their money from scamming people this way.

"Keep Billing Me - no-reply and NO Customer Service"

November 15, 2013  |  By Stonebears

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

None that I can see.

Cons

I got their packet of info, could never set up my acct. correctly due to server issues, and customer service would not help. But there is no option to delete your account. Every month they bill me with a no-reply email, so there is no ability to reply. When you call them, you wait on the line until you are disconnected. I have never once received help, and this has been over a year of attempting to stop the insanity that is Stamps.com

Summary

Every month they just keep adding to my bill, and I cannot get anyone to listen, customer service to write back, or phone calls to customer service be productive. It has caused me great anxiety. I asked my USPS clerk if he could help, who said I was not the first one to complain, but they had no way to help me as they are a private business. Here is the only emails I ever receive back from Stamps.com:

Dear Laura,

Thank you for using Stamps.com! The following is your statement for

"DO NOT BE FOOLED BY STAMPS.COM"

September 05, 2013  |  By ProfessionalEngineer

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

After 20 minutes on the phone, I was finally switched to the pay-as-you-go plan that I thought I had originally signed up for, and they refunded the second monthly charge. Note, this pay-as-you-go plan does not show up as a choice. You can only get it by calling and complaining.

Cons

This site has terrible business practices. I am also sending a complaint to the USPS for associating with a company with these business practices.

Summary

I am normally extremely careful what I sign up for online. I was fooled by the association with the USPS so apparently did not read the extremely fine print that indicated I was signing up for a monthly fee. Do not let yourselves be fooled. Just don't do business with this company.

"Very misleading"

August 19, 2013  |  By bbrownly

 |  Version: Stamps.com 6

Pros

Convenient if you do a lot of mailings or shipping, and if your printer works with their software.

Cons

Software was a pain to use with my new printer.
Business model is misleading. There's nothing free but they sure do a good job of making you think it is.

Summary

I suppose if you do a lot of mailings or shipping, this could be a convenient service. However, if you don't and would like to cancel, then their true colors come out. You have to call them to cancel and then you're put through a never ending sales pitch. Then, you learn they are going to charge you for another month of service. They claim it was for the pat billing period, but that's bull. This company can not be trusted.
