If you can live with the trial restriction, this application makes a capable and easy-to-use document converter. Solid Converter PDF to Word not only performs the job in its title, it also can transform Word documents into PDFs. Upon launch, the program prompts you to select a PDF, then walks you though configuring its settings. You can choose from four reconstruction methods, specify how images are handled, and enable character spacing. We were mostly impressed with this program's performance when we chose the Flowing reconstruction mode, which keeps all layout and graphics intact. In addition to creating MS Word DOC files, the utility can output documents in XML and extract tables into Excel files. It didn't transform our complex text PDF perfectly, but it worked better than many similar programs we've seen. The biggest problem is that the trial version converts only 10 percent of any given PDF to Word (though you can keep restarting it and specifying a different page range). On the other hand, it will convert entire Word documents to PDF. For users who frequently need to convert documents between PDF and Word, this program is a solid bet.Publisher's description

"This program is the biggest time saver on my computer"
Pros: I use this at work to edit E-faxes delivered as pdf files. Sometimes we need to share the info in a fax, but need to remove pages and turn them around if they come in upside down. I can rotate and remove pages with ease and remove the cover sheet with personal contact info. I love it!

"It is a very good software!! Fast, and easy to use."
Pros: Well designed/ Offers many features/ Fast/ easy to use/ Converts PDF to multiple formats.(Excel, Word)
Cons: It is only free to try :( .The software crushed once, but It might have been caused by my PC.
Summary: I like this product because it offers many features and also because it is simple and easy to use. I have tryed it once and I was pleasantly surprised.

"Missed characters even with text behind the PDF image"
Pros: OK for small, non-mission critical PDFs
Cons: Not a good tool for many files pages that must be accurate.
Summary: It looks like the software is trying to do some form of OCR on the PDF, even if the text is behind the PDF image. I checked some files and I was able to copy (for instance) "Hydrogen" right out of the PDF, but solid PDF output the string as "Hidrig... read more >>
