This tiny and free utility serves up basic reminders, as long as you don't expect any extensive features or functionality. Post-it Software Notes Lite is made by the company that manufactures Post-its, so it's no surprise that this program mimics its real-world counterpart.
For example, if you want to add a new note to your desktop, simply hover over the app's system tray and drag your mouse to peel one off (complete with the appropriate sound). You can change the font size and color of any note's text, but you can't alter the actual color of the note from the classic yellow. Post-it Software Notes Lite has added some features it previously lacked, most notably an alarm that links to your note. If you just want the virtual equivalent of a pad of sticky notes, Post-it Software Notes Lite delivers, though power users likely will crave a full-blown reminder application.

"Great free product, VERY BASIC"
Pros: Perfect for quick reminders on computer desktop so you never miss a meeting, event, or thought. Create notes with pictures and hyperlinks, stick notes on computer desktop, or add alarms to notes as reminders. Great way to clear up Post-It notes all over your real desktop and easier to manage them. *DOES NOT CONTAIN MALWARE ACCORDING TO AD-AWARE 1.06r1*
Cons: Cannot create templates for dispensing notes. Cannot have own note style be the one dispensed from the Notepad. Cannot change the color of notes. Cannot cascade desktop in additional ways (by the first number on the note, by a date on the note, or by the note creation date, etc.). Cannot get a second chance with Trashed notes. Cannot pull notes out of the Trash back onto the desktop. Cannot automatically backup notes to a different disk or server. Cannot customize Post-It Software Notes by setting up own display options, Trash features, default note style, backup file, or many other features. *ALL ABOVE FEATURES CAN BE FOUND IN THE STANDARD OR PROFESSIONAL EDITION OF POST-IT SOFTWARE NOTES*

"Attention anyone that may want to purhase the full version of Post-It Notes!"
Pros: I have owned the Standard version since 2005. I paid 14.95. It is a great software!
Cons: 3M had to revise thier software to meet Vista compatibility. The company will not offer a price upgrade to existing customers. They are charging the full price to people that already own the Post-It Notes. The new price is 19.95. They will not give a 5.00 break!
I will no longer promote their software if they are that money hungry.

"Not bad, but there are better programs out there."
Pros: No spyware.
Cons: The problem with the program is that it doesn't allow you to make folders, so once you make a enough stickies to fill up your screen, you are out of luck. It also slowed down my computer. I prefer using web based programs that don't require any install. You are better off using some online programs like Posticky.com, or Mystickys.com

Pros: Hmmm, nothing special, has 3M trademark on it, I believe that is how it picked up.
Cons: The absolute least features of all sticky-note programs, I only have to tell you this: the preference dialog has only two options (yes 2, 1+1), one to setup whether to have this annoying always-on-top box to creat new stickies, and another for whether to switch on/off the "also" annoying sound effects. How about that for sophistication?
