"Better than some expensive ones. Free is good"
Pros: This Puppy scoped out my screwed up Maxtor 250 in less than a minute. In another few minutes I was recovering AVI's and MPEG's.Good transfer rate too.It was easy to use.It is free to try. I had tried a premium recovery program that took 2 days to locate and map 10% of the data before grinding to a halt. It then demanded $69 to attempt to extract the files. I bailed.PC Inspector got them in half an hour.
Cons: The only drawback is that there was one file that caused it to hang. I had to terminate the process and restart the whole thing over again after the file but the program worked so fast that it only cost me 5 minutes.

Version: PC Inspector File Recovery 3.0
Pros: Sometimes it's handy to have a file recovery tool for those "Oops!" moments. I was surprised that I was still able to see what files I previously deleted and stuff.
Cons: For some silly reason it pulls values from the MBR (NTFS only) first and not straight to the data right away.

Version: PC Inspector File Recovery 3.0
Pros: All peopels over here seems to be so delighted by this product.
Well I am not :) Sometimes it works very well, sometimes it doesn't works at all. A few times I have received some errors. One time I was forced to reboot. Another time I was unable to recover a file that was just erased...
But do not forget this product is free!
My advice is to try this software first. If it doesn't works for you, you don't spend any money. So ... why not ?
