Version: Nitro PDF Professional 4.91
"Updates and new features - time for a review!"
Pros: I bought Nitro PDF a little over a year ago to try it out in our business. The price was an obvious selling point and if it came close to matching Acrobat then I would roll it out within the company. Initially, the product was adequately featured, but now after a number of free updates I am very impressed - batch processing is the latest big plus
Cons: Activation was an issue, but it appears that the current version has addressed the problem on the units I have rolled out since the current version was released

Version: Nitro PDF Professional 4.91
Pros: This software deserves to call itself "professional". It creates PDF documents of high quality. It is the only software of 6(!) that I tested altogether that could convert scanned pages to a properly compressed multipage PDF document. And it can certainly do a lot more. I tried only very few options so far.
Cons: The setup takes long and is deeply anchored in the system (WinXP in my case). The menu elements on the floating windows look strange with their hard-to-hit tiny buttons. They could be easier to operate with a standard windows look. Simply changing the order of pages in a document is complicated (drag&drop not possible, must be done with "extract" and "insert").

Version: Nitro PDF Professional 4.91
Pros: I successfully created one PDF file, so I suppose this program does work.
Cons: It made my Outlook not able to send or receive e-mail. Once I uninstalled Nitro, Outlook was fine again.

Version: Nitro PDF Professional 4.91
"Stick with it - initially frustrating - but good support"
Pros: I hated this software at first because we couldn't get it installed properly, but we eventually got past that and now it's working a treat. Bates numbering is a great feature
Cons: We couldn't originally install it successfully and we've had trouble viewing a couple of scanned documents

Version: Nitro PDF Professional 4.91
Pros: Cheaper than Adobe.
Cons: Poorly developed program. Have used beta versions of other software that are less problematic. Did not install properly when I received it. Did not recognize quite a few .PDF format files without an additional .dll file that took over a week for me to get from tech support. Now when I hit certain buttons during normal computer use, it opens up the install program for Nitro. Happens even when the program is not running. 60 days free tech support is not nearly enough for this software. Free online forum takes forever to get help and is currently down. Tons of complaints and issues about the product when it was up. Avoid.
