NetWorx

Publisher's Description

From SoftPerfect:

NetWorx is a utility for measuring your bandwidth usage and the speed of all kinds of wired and wireless network connections (dial-up, Ethernet, ISDN, DSL, 802.11b). The program provides the ability to measure your network throughput, graphic and numeric representation of incoming and outgoing traffic, highly customizable alerts, statistics about dial-up connection duration, weekly, daily, and monthly bandwidth usage.

What's new in this version: Version 5.2.2 added a few hidden settings, displaying time and sorting in dial-up session view, and fixed launching applications with a space in their name in notifications.

"Used to be great but no more"

    January 19, 2012  |   By trollslayer3

    Version: NetWorx 5.2.2

    Pros

    None any more

    Cons

Does not give a true reading of bandwidth, not even close, see below

    Summary

Having used this for a few years I was always impressed and found it really useful for keeping track of my bandwidth usage/allowance from the 3 PC connected to the network. However recently it has starting reporting stupid figures, ie 917GB from one PC in a single day. At a max 6MB line speed that wouldn't be possible even running accelerated downloads for 24 hours straight, not even close. According to Networx I am not exceeding my monthly allowance every day, whereas according to my ISP I have loads to spare at the end of the month.
Simply put, it's completely useless when it reports false figures so I'll be giving it a miss until future versions actually work correctly.
