How many word processors can claim to support ancient Etruscan? Mellel can--and that's not all this small, simple, and elegantly designed text editor can do. Designed specifically for scholars and writers, Mellel supports more languages than any other word processor in OS X, letting you correctly input Hebrew, Farsi, and Arabic. Add to that easy-to-use tables and styles, powerful tabs, good endnote and footnote features, and a host of other innovations, and Mellel delivers an appealing, all-in-one package. The low price and frequent, responsive updates don't hurt, either. Mellel's only significant failing is shared by most non-Word word processors: it can't produce DOC files, a potential liability when collaborating with others.Publisher's description
From ReleX :From the developer: "Mellel is a new word-processor for OS X with a fresh approach and many innovations. With Mellel you can create sophisticated documents with page styles, paragraph styles, character styles, headers and footers, import and export of RTF and plain text, insert menu, spelling, find and replace, and more. Mellel is also the only word-processor for the Macintosh that offers true and comprehensive support for writing in Hebrew under OS X."
