We've seen quite a few screensavers based on the hit Matrix films, and this one strikes us as strictly middle-of-the-road. True to its name, this program brings the movie's famous, rapidly moving green computer code to your desktop. In addition, Matrix Code Emulator Screensaver displays well-known quotes from the film, although you can disable this option if you like. You also can customize several aspects of the code's appearance, such as movement speed, density, and highlight percentage. However, we think some users may find the installation process a bit confusing. Clicking the SCR file will only launch the screensaver; you must right-click it or copy it in the appropriate directory to install it. Though this isn't a huge problem, we really think the developer should include a help file explaining this process. Still, if you're a fan of the Matrix flicks, it won't hurt to try this free screensaver, especially since it doesn't come with adware.

"Works like expccted"

Pros: -looks very cool
-does not lag or hog your system
-very customisbale (colors, speed, density, your name, the date and time displayed in the message, etc)

Cons: -The .ini file seems to be pointless

Summary: 1) for all the people wondering: yes, it works on Win7
2) to install, copy the .src file to C:\Windows\system32\, right-click and select "install"
3) to customise, open your screensaver dialog and click "configure", then click "options" in the pop-up. Easy enough for even the biggest novices to understand

"Completely legendary. Purely a work of green art."

Pros: Runs well, easy installation and not a memory hog. Relatively good graphics (for a screensaver that is), and has decent animation elements to make for a great experience.

Cons: Slight lag from when you move the mouse to when the screensaver vanishes. Recycles some of the animation over and over again, but is not excessively noticeable.

Summary: A 5 out of 5 star screensaver, despite some minor issues, but it still has my vote.

Pros: Plenty of options. Looks beautiful. Works perfectly on Windows 7,

Cons: None. This screensaver works perfectly.

"Quick and to the point"

Pros: The advantages of software that does exactly what you expect of it are clearly shown in this screensaver.

Cons: If I desired to display my own favorite quotes from The Matrix over the faling code, I would be disappointed.

Pros: Brings back memories..., Very realistic, even simulates internet connection (it doesn't connect to anything)

Cons: There was no audio... Oh well

Summary: I thought it was great. I like now that you don't have to install it. Love the multi-monitor support. Very realistic. It reminded me of the first Matrix movie. Love it. Great job.

Cons: the only thing i don't lke is that they don't specify were to get the sponsor version
