This program helps users create and maintain budgets, but confusing program requests and a steep learning curve mar its usability. The interface is cramped, with no option for improving readability. IngenMoney opens with a wizard to help teach basic functions. Be warned: setting up your first budget takes a basic understanding of some financial concepts and terms. The program does allow for two users to keep separate budgets. Other functions included are a loan calculator, banking sheet printouts, and a phone dialer to download banking data. The program cannot download data via the Internet or import financial data files. Inexplicably, IngenMoney wastes resources with a built-in MP3 player. The install application does not include a needed library, which is not the case with some older versions of Windows. This program is not for spreadsheet or financial novices, but advanced users and quick learners may find the process rewarding.Publisher's description
From IngenLab :This solution gives you 100 percent control of your personal finances. The logical and lively interface blends in naturally with how most of us foresee our day-to-day finances. Your budget figures are loaded onto a dynamic virtual calendar that rolls as time go by. Bills are handled by an automatic distribution of your income every time revenues are processed. When due dates are around the corner, obligations roll in on your calendar, guidance lights comes on, and the money is there. You will be aware of the funds available for your daily expenses at any given moment, which prevents you from overspending.
IngenMoney doesn't pretend to replace your accountant or fire off advanced arithmetic, but it sure will help you keep your daily finances right on track. It's loaded with extra features, including an MP3 player, a phone dial-up, and a loan calculator.

Version: IngenMoney 3
Pros: Interface is fool-proof. The help is first-rate at describing the interface elements.
Cons: Not 100% sure what the product does or what value it provides. I'm interested in forecasting, doing "what if" analysis (What if I sent $200 more to savings each month? What if I got a raise? What if I deferred my cable bill to next paycheck?) and this does not seem to be supported........The concept of "pocket money" is nonintuitive. It apparently gives you pocket money on every payday, after deducting enough to cover your bills, but darned if I can follow the math on how this works.........Interface is too controlling - cannot easily delete a transaction. Cannot delete the initial bank deposit - once it's made, you either erase the entire bank account or put in adjustment transactions to correct it. Only have 7 columns or so for recurring charges, though you can double up under each column.........As the help says, you must be willing to sync your bank account "every 3 or 4 days." This is impractical. Bills are done once per month, checks are written twice per month. Again, I'm not 100% sure what this product does or why I would want to keep sync'd with my bank account other than just for the sake of watching my money being spent. Maybe that is why they offer an MP3 player to go with it, to ease the inevitable depression.

Pros: This is an awesome tool! It has a step by step walkthrough of it's features when you set up your personal accounts. It even plays MP3s while you manage your money! So far it's been wonderful!
Cons: If you skip the walkthrough, then it could be a little hard to use.
