Publisher's Description
From SibCode:
Icon Plugin for Photoshop enhances Adobe Photoshop with an ability to export and import Windows icons (.ico). Thanks to this ability, users can create icons directly in Adobe Photoshop, using its powerful arsenal of creative tools and stylistic options. No intermediate files or extra icon editors are required. The plug-in supports multi-format icons, transparency and semi-transparency and allows making icons compatible with Windows XP and Vista.
What's new in this version: Version 2.1 icon-plugin is free now.

"Doesn't work with Photoshop CS5"
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
Never got that far.
Cons
When attempting to Save As... in .ICO format, a message stating that a disk error occurred is displayed and the file it not saved.

"Works great in Photoshop 7"
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
I haven't found a picture I couldn't make into an Icon yet, and it's free
Cons
So far none
Summary
I've tried many other free icon plugins that made them kinda transparent when I was done. This one has made all my pictures, that didn't have a lot of detail, look just fine.

"Didn't Work"
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
Nice Idea in theory.
Cons
Didn't work at all. In 64bit CS5, the plug in is not loaded. In 32bit CS5, the plug in only generated errors about not having disk permission to save.
Summary
In my experience, this thing doesn't work at all with CS5.

"Works great for CS3"
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
All I needed this for was to save Website logos as favicons which it does beautifully.
Cons
Did not experience any cons.
Summary
Follow the install instructions, and it works great as a "Save as" giving you a few options to choose from if you want to. I just used the defaults and saved as favicon.ico

"Not really what I was looking for. Doesn't do Vista icons."
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
Simple and easy to use for traditional icon files.
Cons
Claims to do Vista icons, but either it doesn't or I simply couldn't figure out how to use it to do so.

"Should be renamed to Icon Plugin 2.1 for Photoshop..."
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
Works well in Photoshop CS2. Simple, easy to use. Added to open and save dialogs. Works with PS actions although limited. Power of photoshop and Illustrator for making icons!
Cons
"Ok" function not recordable in actions. Must manually confirm each image. UI could be updated.

"Bombs in Photoshop CS"
Version: Icon Plugin for PhotoShop 2.1
Pros
I like the fact that you can take any picture and create an icon.
Cons
Adobe PS CS let me make two icons and then started coming up with "Could not complete your request because of a problem with the file-format module interface"
when you try to open as an icon. If you try to save it as an Icon it doesn't appear as an option (it did at first then nothing).
