Version: GnuCash 2.1.2
"Minor install issue, but works OK. I'm keeping it."
Pros: Free, has a lot of features. Very promising product. Features many ways to sort and report data, with charting routines built in. Small issues, but meets my simple needs. Quickly and easiliy imported a 3-year Quicken financial file )large) and supports many others. I'm going to keep it.
Cons: Install generated an error about not being able to write a file, but continued anyway and it did not seem to matter, so figured it was something that would come later. The program needs to be clearly marked as BETA software, as it is in the installer. The installation took under 3 minutes, figuring out the interace took a few minutes (what/how to load, etc). I then imported a .QIF file (Quicken financial records) without incident. My first instinct was to uninstall it when the (apparently non-fatal) install error happened, but now after using this program for a few minutes I think I'll keep it around and help test it.

"Excellent free tool, need to install GTK+ to install"
Pros: Manages finances easily.
Cons: Doesn't mention that you need to install GTK + Runtime Environment (Google it or get it from the GIMP website).

Version: GnuCash 2.1.2
Pros: Please note that this product will NOT run with Windows 98 or ME. I do not know what made c|net think so.
