This simple program adjusts your system to improve game play, but the best speeds are not available in the limited demo. Using a tray pull-down menu, and a simple three question dialog interface, Game Accelerator is easily configured and simple to operate. An included user guide is a basic listing of the program functions.
Configuring Game Accelerator takes only a few seconds. You just have to use pull-down menus to select your video card, CPU, and Sound Card. If you're not sure of any item, the program helpfully includes a link to Windows System Information. This program offers various modes, but Aggressive Acceleration and Pure Game Environment Optimization modes are disabled in the demo. Our testers found system speed improvements with both the remaining modes, HyperSpeed Gaming and High-Performance.
Included memory and hard drive defrag tools, along with the system monitor, and a DirectX tool are all basic functions better implemented in stand alone programs. Improving system speed is very dependent on properly setting hardware and software for optimal performance. Game Accelerator is easily configured by any level user and does a good job of making standard setting changes for improved play.
