I have an older macbook (core2duo) and have noticed when set to "progressive scan" the video now stutters a little and is not smooth like it was in older versions of eyetv.
Summary
This is case of all older computers, new software demands more performance from the hardware. I am trying to downgrade the eyetv software to an older version now.....

This is potentially a great piece of software. However you need to be checking it regularly to see if it works. In my experience it regularly forgets to stop a recording and will just fill up the HDD on which you are storing programs.
I'm using it on a Mac Mini (2011) with a 1TB HDD and an Elgato NetStream. The usual scenario is that i program one or two programs to record during the week, go away, come back on Friday night, and it will have not stopped a random recording from early in the week, so that I have a show that should be say a 30 min or one hour recording, but it will have recorded the next 24 or 36 hours on that station. I am now using V3.5.6 but all versions seem to have the same problem.
Customer support has worked hard to try to rectify, but I am giving up and will purchase a stand alone PVR to replace. -

..This version is a bit of a step back IMHO.
The only thing I can see as that step backward is that to access the main onscreen menu one has to go from fullscreen to a windowed screen thus making it very "Un-TV like" and making it more like a computer program.
My computer IS my TV/entertainment center and when in TV mode I don't want it to even resemble a computer (if/when possible)...having to resize the main TV screen to reveal the guide and recordings is VERY clunky.
version 3.4 is NOT like that and I have gone back to that version until there is a fix.
I may be missing something because no one else seems to be complaining about this change...if I am please post a reply to this review. -

The tv shows can be transferred to the iPod Touch.
Multicolored schedules makes for easier reading.
In case you misplace the included remote the Apple remote works fine as well.

I am worried about the amount of heat produced by Eye Hybrid Tv.
It looks as though it is a fitting member of the Apple family of computers
but heat is the enemy no matter how it appears.Summary
I have used Eye Hybrid thru most of the hundred episodes of Monk, countless
NCSI adventures, actually look forward to new shows that appear in the summer.
I have a 52 inch incredible plasma but find the Eye Hybrid Tv a more practical device since It offers so much. I must admit that when I view my conventional
tv the picture blows me away. Miss mail and research or go conventional; I mostly
choose to watch tv on a smaller screen that my first Mac, the SE/30, which
had a seven inch screen.
