Pros

Still evaluating functionality (reply hazy, ask again later)

Cons

Crippleware eval software but CNET listing does not describe this, nor provide publisher information (readily available).; does not seem to register file extension properly (doubleclick gets installer, not equation illustrator)

Summary

NOTE that nothing in the publisher-provided or CNET-listed information shows that the "free" download version is evaluation only, with some features having built-in limitations and some features having 100 day timeouts. Publisher website is readily available. Why isn't this information either provided by publisher to CNET, or CNET to us?

Incompatibilities with any other Equation editors / objects (ie, Microsoft 2007/2003, OpenOffice), really limit portability of student works produced by this tool Have not yet tried to compare different equation editing tasks to look for compatibilities either.

Note many universities have online math tests that require students to be proficient in Microsoft Word's equation editors; students using this package may (or may not!) be training themselves to do something that won't help them on exam day!
