CNET Editors' review
While some financial management programs are complex and require some time to learn, Easy Cash Manager strips away all but the most simple money tracking elements. It's easy to learn, but it may not fit the bill for everyone needing to manage their money.
This freeware program has a bold, all-green display that is laid out fairly simply. The green is a bit over the top, but the simplicity of the screen makes it easy to get started. The left screen is merely blank space. The right offers simple buttons to add deposits or subtract expenses. In simple black type, your original balance, and all deductions and incomes are added for the grand total.
Easy Cash Manager also offers users opportunities to filter their figures, as well as run surveys and sort by specific criteria. You can see income by day in a simple listing, for example, and the percentage of overall income that a day's income represents. However, it doesn't have the range of features found in similar money management programs. The trade-off for the simplicity of using Easy Cash Manager is the lack of advanced features.
Bookkeeping is rarely a case of simple addition and subtraction. However, if that is all you require for your accounting needs, you will not find a simpler, easier download than Easy Cash Manager.

"Basically useless"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
Free download. May be OK if you only have one account to track.
Cons
Difficult to use. Cannot give a snapshot of all your accounts (eg total balance). Cannot transfer between accounts (eg when using one account to pay another). Default entry overwrites last entry! Doesn't update to today's date automatically when opening programme but uses last date entered. Surveys (reports) only give very basic information (income versus expenditure) with no further breakdown. Not possible to make forecasts or track any trends. No graphs or charts.
Summary
I could probably do better than this on my own with Excel.

"Does exactly what it says on the tin!"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
Very simple to use. For the purpose intended - ideal. With the filtering facility, a "to the penny" balance is available at a glance.
Cons
None found so far!
Summary
lFor my purposes, this is probably the best piece of software I've ever found. All I needed was a means of recording my income and expenditure from two bank accounts and the cash in my pocket. I don't need fancy facilities or double-entry book-keeping to confuse the issue or complicate the recording of entries. By applying the appropriate filter, I can balance the cash in my pocket or the amounts in either of my bank accounts.
For my needs, the very fact of having to record every purchase makes me consider that purchase's necessity in the first place. In itself, that's a means of saving money!
Bottom line - if all you want is a means of recording personal income and expenditure for the purpose of controlling your expenditure, this is definitely the one! -

"I've found a money management program for the home!"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
It handles more than one account or one bank with ease. The layout is clean and uncluttered with simple controls to navigate between the different types of accounts.
Cons
I don't appreciate the very GREEN color scheme, and I haven't found where to change it from as yet.
Summary
An excellent program for my home record keeping.. I am able to navigate between my accounts with ease, and the running balance lets me see at a glance where I stand. Entering an item is easier than if I were using a paper register, and they are easy for me to understand. I am extremely confident of controlling my money, using the program, which I never was with any other I have tried.

"Very basic"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
dont like to having to save after every entry
-
"Simple Credit/Debit tool"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
I like how easy it is to use, but I need a little more out of a cash management program.
Cons
Too easy to overwrite information once it is entered (slightly annoying). Doesn't save in the program (saves a *.sbpg;*.sbpr type document in a folder of your choosing). No way to add another category; you have to enter savings as an expense.
-
"Piece of cake! Easy to use, easy set up for my needs."
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
Glad I didn't have to keep the green screen! Love the options such as adding columns of my own, setting up regular payments to post, display according to date, or any other criteria to see what I need at a glance. Help function explained everything.
Cons
Am a week into using it, have entered 4 months of data, and haven't encountered ANYTHING I don't like. The snapshot of the green screen was a turn off, want other potential users to know you can change the color!!!!!!!!!!
Summary
I have been a book keeper, and appreciate it for it 's many options that allow me to be as detailed as I want, at the same time, keeping it simple. Anyone who uses a regular check book register to keep track of their expenses has enough know how to use this.
Suggestion: I added columns for "Ck # or code", as your checkbook register would have, and a "cleared?" column to allow me to enter a Y into when I am reconciling my bank account. Also selected option to have incomes and expenses be 2 different columns.
I appreciate that I can use subcategories to see how my money is being spent, ie. grocery, utilities, internet purchases, entertainment, misc.....but someone else could not use that column at all if you don't want to. It really gives you the versatility to keep it very simple, and use it like a check register, but with tools that allow you to sort and find info much easier than a checkbook register ever could......OR...to use the advanced options to make it really work for you, auto-posting payments, etc.....
I really love it, and am kicking myself for not doing it years ago!!!!!!!!! -
"A zip to download and a snap to use"

Cons

-
"Easy to Install and Use"
Version: Easy Cash Manager 3.1.3
Pros
Basic, no frills but very effective and easy to use. No wild spreadsheets or multiple fields to deal with; just a very straightforward, well done program which I find very refreshing indeed.
Cons
Some users may perceive it as limited, but still overall great for basic personal accounting use and does what is says it does.
Summary
Super fast download, straightforward program, extremely easy to use = Well worth the download
