While Excel creates basic charts, the multi-step process takes a long time and the resulting chart is often hard to read. We believe that charting software should do as much of the work as possible. That's why we created EZ Chart for Excel;a shortcut to Excel Charts. EZ Chart works by installing a new menu item on your Excel Toolbar. To create a chart using EZ Chart, just select your data in Excel and then click the EZ Chart menu and select the chart you want. EZ Chart will run a macro and create your chart. It's that simple. There are two versions of the EZ Chart add-in for Excel: Basic and Plus. EZ Chart Basic is free. It will help you create line graphs, bar charts, column charts, pie charts, scatter charts and more. EZ Chart Plus costs more because it does more. It draws all of the charts in EZ Chart Basic plus pareto charts, histograms and run charts. Excel's basic charts are often hard to read, suffering from what's known as "Chart Junk"--improper shading of plot areas, unnecessary legends, gridlines, etc. Excel may also fail to grab chart titles. In contrast, EZ Chart creates a cleaner, better looking chart. Excel's Chart Wizard takes you through confusing steps to define all of the parts of your chart. This is not necessary. Using EZ Chart, just select your data and then click on the chart you want from the EZ Chart menu.
