This application quickly scans and catalogs all your data files and audio CDs, but relies on a music database that could soon disappear. With a Windows Explorer-style interface, DriveScan Plus is easy to navigate. Searching for files and folders has always been available in Windows, but this program performs quicker searches and catalogs files by type and other data. You create categories for file types, wherein each category includes items from all your removable drives, fixed disks, CDs, and DVDs. This method could be strange for some users since the accepted method is to scan from scratch for each search. You will spend some time scanning in all your data disks, but future searches will be lightning-quick. Using the extended search criteria, you can also search for specific files based on extensions, annotations, media labels, descriptions, and file size. Unfortunately, DriveScan Plus relies on FreeDB for audio disk information, and that service is in danger of elimination. Novices to advanced users, those with a few disks or hundreds, all will find this application robust, beneficial, configurable, and simple to use.Publisher's description
From diginvent :Scans and structures your collection of CDs, DVDs, floppy disks, and hard disks with audio-CD support and allows you to search the whole database. The integrated FreeDB support allows you to label your audio-CDs automatically by downloading track lists from a special Internet server. Navigate through the folder and file structure of your media without them being inserted into any drive of your computer. Zip files can be scanned as well as MP3-ID3-tags and FileID-DIZ files. You can manage up to 10 databases (network functionality is integrated). Contains many further extras, combined under program interface. You can enter annotations for every medium, every folder, and every file, what makes it easier to find those objects later on. Another feature is the possibility to save all lists that appear in the program (search results list, statistics) as CSV files or to print them out.
