This dynamic, user-friendly stock ticker is a great tool for traders, despite its trial limitations. CoolTick Stock Ticker needs a Net connection to work. Just like the tickers on Wall Street, this program scrolls the ticker name and current prices of your favorite stocks on a display bar. This bar can be easily resized or placed anywhere on your desktop. You also can control the speed and direction of the ticker or change font or color options. If you click a stock, a Web page opens displaying more detailed information about the stock and its history. We especially like the option to set alerts, whether for a stock price or for portfolio size. The only drawback we could find was the trial limitations. Even though you only can enter two stock tickers in the demo version, we found that was still sufficient to judge the program's merits. For day traders or those who enjoy the action on Wall Street, this compact, straightforward program is a good investment.Publisher's description

Version: CoolTick Stock Ticker 8.6
"Very easy - exactly what I was looking for."
Pros: Well worth the $20 registration fee to watch my customized list of symbols scrolling across the bottom of my screen. I like being able to work on other things while the bottom 10 pixels of my screen are keeping me in touch with my money.

Version: CoolTick Stock Ticker 8.6
Pros: Always on top of my screen, easy to see, constantly updating my stocks. I can watch my stocks while using other programs or surfing the net. I highly recommend this product to investors who want to keep an eye on the market without having to log in to their brokerage software.

"Microsoft's screw up not cool ticks"
Pros: Okay... I wrote the post by apathetician in reviewing this software. Turns out these guys were trying to contact me all along but their emails were being dumped by hotmail. Not put in Junk mind you, just not making it. Once Mike at cooltick emailed me using a different address everything worked out and he took care of me right away. Sorry for the confusion. Probably my fault for being married to hotmail for 10 years for this sort of thing.

"Terrible service, still no valid license key after purchase"
Cons: The free version only allows 2 symbols. Fair enough, but after spending 20 minutes entering in all my symbols and related information to find this out, only to find out I couldn't save that in any way or even register directly from that console, realizaing I was going to lose all that work was a real let down. So I sucked it up and accepted I would just have to add that stuff again after registration... so I registered, payed with paypal and then clicked the usual paypal link to return to the vendor's page, get the key etc etc. Well I got redirected to a page that let me know "registration not found". I tried several times the "recover registration" button on the site... to no avail. I was billed by paypal and am now short 20 bucks. I have contacted customer service several times in the last 3 days and have gotten NO response whatsoever. So here I sit, shorted 20 bucks, no key, no working software and absolutely no support. Looks nice from the demo, but at this cost I think I'd rather just get my 20 bucks back than get a working key.
