CNET Editors' review
Though not a full-blown anti-adware application, this program handles its one job with aplomb. As you might guess from its name, the main purpose of CWShredder is to purge your PC of the notoriously nasty malware component known as CoolWebSearch. The minimal interface reflects the app's narrow focus, with only a few buttons for scanning your machine and repairing problems. Although we can't get too excited about the nearly nonexistent feature set, we must applaud the performance, as the program found and deleted all remnants of CoolWebSearch we placed on a test machine, in less than 20 seconds. CWShredder obviously won't serve as your main adware solution, but all regular Web surfers and downloaders should keep it on hand. Also, if your machine is already infected with this icky piece of adware, we suggest you download this free app at once.Publisher's Description
From InterMute:
CWShredder is a small utility for removing the nasty CoolWebSearch browser hijacker and its ever-changing variants from your hard drive.

Pros
Easy. Installs, and works quickly.

No problems. The CW Search had been removed already. With this program, it is now completely off the system.

"GOOD--I THINK???"
Version: CWShredder 2.19
Pros
scans for coolwebsearch stuff
Cons
don't know
Summary
i guess i would be happier if i happened to ever have the coolwebsearch things on any of my machines (6 desktops, 3 laptops). however, even with teenagers surfing and all kinds of stuff and websites, (evidently), i've never had that coolwebsearch problem. i've run this software and it has never found anything. my guess is because i use spybot search and destroy. i'm guessing that it immunizes for coolwebsearch because when spybot scans, i can see the words "coolwebsearch" listed. cwshredder might be a great backup if spybot misses the boat, but i haven't had an opportunity to "shred" anything.

"GREAT PROGRAM"
Version: CWShredder 2.19
Pros
THIS PROGRAM IS EASY TO USE
Cons
I CAN NOT THINK OF ANY
-
"Very powerful"
Version: CWShredder 2.19
Pros
It's reasonably fast
Cons
Links don't work.
Summary
This program confirmed that I don't (yet) have this malicious piece of software on my system. I was annoyed by the fact that the "Check for Update" and the "Test Your System for Other Spyware" buttons don't work.
