If you're bored with your desktop, Animated Desktop can add a bit of color. The program comes with 28 animated themes and lets you create your own. The animated desktops are different and colorful, and the image quality in some is brilliant. For example, the Dancing Star animation turns your cursor trail into a star that explodes on the screen. Other animations are just as amazing. However, every time you select one, the program displays a nag screen, and when you disable the effects, you lose your original desktop image. Also, the interface features hard-to-read fonts, commands that aren't clear, and even incorrect tool tips. These problems undermine the quality of the product.
