Despite a few complaints, this Internet Exlporer-based browser makes a decent choice for those seeking an alternative. Like many of the newer browsers, Advanced Browser offers a basic, tabbed structure that lets you easily switch among open windows. We found the Groups feature, which lets you categorize sites and open them with a single click, to be especially useful. We also liked the option that let us save all open sites for automatic access at the beginning of our next surfing session. The pop-up killer turned out decent performance against most standard annoyances and Flash ads, but we wished it had a white list for compiling a list of allowed sites. Still, we did appreciate the ability to quickly enable or disable ActiveX objects, video, images, sounds, and scripts. Our quibbles with Advanced Browser mainly concern stability, as it hogged more resources than some of its competitors and occasionally stalled when we had multiple windows open. Regardless, there's enough here to make this free program worth a try.

This is a simple but fast and user friendly browser and does not freeze or slow which is good.

Has not been updated since 2004 but is still supported on the web in sites including You Tube,which does support Advanced browser.
Summary
Advanced browser is a simple browser but some times simple is best as this proves here. Advanced browser has never been updated since 2004 yet it is still supported on all of today's sites including You Tube and My Space. Advanced browser is based on Internet Explorers Trident engine. But it works great on my laptop even though I no longer have Internet explorer as I have uninstalled it.I have found no complaints with this browser and it seems to have been made ahead of it's time,with advanced features not seen in some other browsers. In fact I would rather have this on my desktop than The World browser,another IE engine based browser that just froze up. Advanced browser causes no such problems and does not slow or freeze. I already have other Trident engine browsers at the moment. But I would be happy to have this browser,Advanced browser as an extra browser on my laptop instead of some other 2010 browsers I have tried that do not work good. Advanced browser does work very well,so even though it is old it is worth getting. And will be supported on all websites.
I have now switched from Green browser that I was using to this browser-Advanced browser. And it is a lot faster than some other browsers. I have uninstalled Internet Explorer, but this browser is not running off of IE, it is running off of Windows. So you don't need Internet Explorer to run this, or other Trident engine browsers like Green browser or Avant like most people think. I have got Windows 7 by the way.I like the toolbar on this browser very useful and it works better than Green browser did. I am glad I made the switch to Advanced browser. And you sometimes do need a Trident browser for Active X which Firefox and Chrome does not allow you to install in their browser.On Aim Messenger I has to install Adobe Flash Active X and could not do it with Safefox or Chromium. As some programs don't work without Active X,including programs like Real Player. That's when Advanced browser comes in handy. And can be used for sites that require IE too. Although there are not many of them now.

I wish AB had 1) a "Zoom In" button like Slimbrowser has. I really need this feature, and I also like the Auto Fill Slimbrowser has that AB doesn't. If anyone knows how I can get either, or both of these features plz let me know.

Unlike Avant, it doesn't just sit there and make you wonder if it's working. Moreover, it does not freeze or crash all the time like Avant did.
Cons
This may be an ripoff of Avant, but it works better.
Summary
This product works as advertised; the IE interface makes this product an indispensable replacement for IE. If you want it to work faster, turn of images, flash players, etc. Of course, then some web pages or elements of web pages won't download or work. Every choice has consequences.

Pros
Both text-heavy and image-heavy pages load quickly. I've had no trouble with any of my usual webpages so far. I'm submitting this review on Advanced Browser, in fact. And anything that starts you off with tips and hints is good in my book.
Cons
The tabs being at the bottom will take getting used to. And I really could wish the toolbar sported larger buttonsand such, for those of us who already have terrible eyesight.
Summary
All in all, I think AB is a good casual browser. It has yet to present me with any problems, at least. I was pleasantly surprised with how easy using it turned out to be, and my computer hasn't been noticably slowed using it like some browsers. I don't pretend to be a tech whiz, or a computer expert, or anything of the sort, but for people like me who just need something to surf the web, Advanced Browser works just fine.
