Greatly improve Firefox's proxy process with this freeware add-on. FoxyProxy's multitabbed interface sports multiple check-box options, pull-down menus, and simple entry boxes. Taken together, the numerous items might appear daunting to novice users, but the program's detailed documentation explains the process well.

The most helpful aspect of FoxyProxy is its multiple proxy feature. You can easily create proxies that are called only for sites matching defined patterns. Setting the patterns is very easy using wild cards and regular expressions. Configuring FoxyProxy to work with Tor is even easier using the app's Tor wizard. The many settings also make this app flexible enough to fit most proxy needs. Whitelists and blacklists are a snap to set and are defined for each proxy. Spending just a little time setting up this utility and you could easily define select sites to connect directly, while others bypass work filters through appropriate proxies.

FoxyProxy is easy to install, fully transparent when required, and free. Any Firefox user who ever uses proxies should install and take the time to master this tool.

    FoxyProxy is an advanced proxy management tool that completely replaces Firefox's proxy configuration. It offers more features than SwitchProxy, ProxyButton, QuickProxy, xyzproxy, ProxyTex, and TorButton. Features include but not limited to an animated statusbar/toolbar icons show you when a proxy is in use; define which proxy to use (or none!) for arbitrary URLs using wildcards, regular expression, whitelists, and blacklists; define multiple proxies and order their use with priorities; no more wondering whether a URL loaded through a proxy or not.

    FoxyProxy includes an optional log of all URLs loaded, including which proxy was used (if any), which pattern was matched, timestamps, etc; temporarily or permanently disable a proxy with the click of a button; out-of-the-box support for Tor - zero configuration; optional status bar information about which proxy is currently in use; full Proxy Auto-Config (PAC) support, with PAC features not available within Firefox itself; and unobtrusive presence, stable execution, premier support.
