"CSS is a Designer's Worst Enemy"
Version: Adobe Dreamweaver CS3
Pros
Still allows for design of websites with tables
Cons
CSS layout is completely unusable from a designer's perspective.
Summary
CSS has taken the fun and creative intuition out of Dreamweaver, you might as well just learn how to code. There is no "WYSIWIG" with Dreamweaver's approach to CSS and it is a complete frustrating experience to "design" using this program. I know, using tables is now a know-know, but the uses of "styles" for exactly possible thing you do on a web page is ridiculous! It takes hours to lay out a simple web site, there is no simple drop and drag, or placement of visual elements. No, you have to create a style! Well, the coders have won and Dreamweaver does nothing to appease the needs of designers and how the work -- with their eyes! Coding and CSS is for...coders. Adobe needs to completely revisit how this application works, it is completely counter-intuitive from a designer's perspective. And don't tell me to learn CSS, I didn't have to learn postscript for page layout did I? Unless you are prepared to spend hours and hours learning CSS there is no use for this program.
Sorry for the typos!
