"Elegant power and simplicity"
Version: Accounts 1.9.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been trying to migrate from the venerable old MacMoney (OS9 + classic) for years, but have found nothing with the same combination of ease of use, power, and elegance... until now.
And I've tried many others.... Money, Moneydance, Liquid Ledger, iBank, Finance To Go - even that nasty Quicken thing Apple keeps sticking on the drive of my new Macs!
Accounts is 'real' accounting software without the fat and bloat. Yes, it has limited import/export, limited visual customisation, and without online banking it's probably more useful for small business than personal finance.
But the thing is - for what it does, it works: elegantly, easily, and much more intuitively (despite some 'hard core' accounting features) than any of the others I've tried.
I hope the developer is in for the 'long haul', because I think I have finally found something to replace MacMoney! -
"Still in development?"
Version: Accounts 1.9.1
Summary

I used to get regular updates but haven't heard from the developer for some time. Also, I notice it's been almost a year since the last update which makes me wonder if this program has reached its life expectancy. -
"Nice, great features"

Works perfectly. -
"Accounting for Dummies!"
Version: Accounts 1.4
Summary
While the principles of Accounting are complicated (to me), this package helped, after some initial confusion, to make sense of all the in's and out's of money flow.

"Great software"
Version: Accounts 1.5.2
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Accounts is great software for the price; certainly worth considering versus the much more expensive commercial QuickBooks or MYOB (or the horrible and not-worth-your-money MyBooks). If only it managed my business checking account (unless I missed something).
Great interface, too. My only quirk (besides the business checking account comment, above) is this: When you add a payment or receivable, you have to click in the "Total" field to update the total, otherwise you get an error message that says you have to click in this field. The "Total" field does not update as you enter data. -
"Awesome Software"
Version: Accounts 1.5.1
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I downloaded Accounts a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It'll be perfect for my soon-to-be small business, and the price is excellent. Right now I'm giving it 4 stars (instead of 5) because there is an item-rearranging bug that the developer says they are aware of, and should be fixing sometime this month. It would also be nice to be able to add a logo to invoices. -
"Do's what it say's & cheap"
Version: Accounts 1.5.1
Summary

GREAT , Accounts 1.5.1 do's what it says. Very well priced for what you get. A facility to sync or mail merge with appleworks + a basic stock control facility option , would make this the full package I need & get this 5 stars . Recommended , keep up the good work
