  i didn't use it much but it looks to be a clean way to organize your thoughts and various files. the outline (fold/unfold) feature is especially useful.

  Cons

  i was looking for an app that would enable me to edit a wikipedia article locally on my Win7 computer; this isn't it, but i can't criticize a program for not doing what it never promised to.

  Once you get the hang of it, the app is easy to use and does exactly what it promises. I'm using it to make sense of the notes for my writing projects.

  For its purpose WikidPad is extreme overkill! It's way too complex for something that's suppose to act as a scrach notes taker (better explained in my bottom-line summary).

  It's not a bad program, what?s objectionable is for a program whose purpose is to act as a scratch notes taker, its way too complex. Having to come up with ?wikiwords? and such, give me a break already! That kind of learning curve puts it in the same ballpark as MS Word, OpenOffice Writer, Photoshop, etc. If I have to invest that much time learning to use it, I might as well just keep a Writer or Word document running minimized. Or just bag the lot of them and keep the always easy to use, very reliable, and user-friendly Post-it pad near by.

  Vraious way of organising personnel and work related infor, task, schedules.

  1. steep learning curve. <p>2. I am using something simple which i found online called : keynote 1.6.5 (though it is discontinued) it works for me. <p>3. for advanced stuff i use something called freemind which has visual representation of documents and links.

  I had experience with WikiPedia and was looking to start my own wiki for the community and then stumbled across this. It took a bit of getting used to, and had to devise a way to not end up with duplicate node names, but now I use it all the time, and it's far easier to keep everything organized. I now use WikidPad for my programming and keeping track of all sorts of random bits of info.

  Cons

  The only real drawback is that you have to manualy delete every node one at a time, and you can't just shift click and hold a series of nodes, or just erase all the parentless nodes all at once.

  I was simply blown away by this software. It does take some getting used to (I had some previous experience with Wikipedia), but once you've got it in your blood it's hard to get the wiki bug out. You start seeing new wiki pages for every aspect of your life. I'm using this for categorizing and taking notes from books, writing our family history, managing contacts, and there are a million other uses. This is truly life-changing software.
