Editors’ Review
VirtualDVD offers an easy way to turn ISO images into emulators and custom operating systems. However, it doesn't make itself too clear for users who are new to the dance. If you already know what you're doing, this download will help you do it in no time. If you don't, you might want to search elsewhere for a program with more instructions.
When you open this program, it seems like nothing happens at first. However, this program constantly runs in your system tray, so you won't be able to access it through the normal means. You have to go through a series of right-clicks to get to the good part of the program. It doesn't do a good job of hunting down ISO images for you, but finding them shouldn't be too hard. Once you find them, VirtualDVD can mount them incredibly quickly. It supports most formats, which is welcome. If something goes wrong, the program gives you a vague error message that will take some decoding to figure out.
VirtualDVD works smoothly and runs very quietly on your hard drive without taking up much space. If you know what you're doing and just need the right tool, this is a great one to pick. However, this might not be the best program for users who are just getting started.
