This powerful utility provides almost everything you need to turn real CDs and DVDs into virtual ones. The virtual discs reside on your hard drive, thereby speeding up disk access and allowing you to put the real disc away. The program works with ISO images as well as ones created in Nero, CloneCD, and other popular utilities. Creating a virtual disc took about five minutes. Virtual CD offers several features similar apps don t. For example, you can burn your virtual discs on a DVD to run on any PC. Automation tools let you install the program on several computers or insert multiple virtual CDs with a click. The main interface is a bit complicated, but a handy toolbar provides access to essential functions. Even with 20 virtual CD-ROMs plugged in, the program consumed moderate resources. Altogether, Virtual CD makes a superb choice for those who need to work with virtual discs.

Demo Version Came Already expired and with Virus!

downloaded "Demo" Version, once program installed, told me the demo had already expired and I needed to purchase or uninstall. Couldn't easily find option to burn to virtual CD. Installed Conduit Search Engine on Browser and OS

Very Disappointed with CNET download site, program downloaded as an already expired Demo version, and installed software I didn't tell it to. Not a product I would pay money for

The Trojan was not loaded by the file but by the download link listed by cnet. the Trojan transferred from CNET BEFORE the program began to download.

only allows purchase. I have version 10.0. 10.1 is available. Clicking the link in the program only goes to purchase or trial version area, Why make it imppossible to locate the minor version upgrades? I think the problem in part is with language difficulties of the authors.
Came up on Cnet as free but it's not.

Well, I only tested and use the virtual disc mounting, the cd-r to burn virtual discs from itunes, and it works as expected, and really easily. I use this to burn a cd from itunes so I can then re-rip the songs ion an mp3 format. Virtual CD rocks.

None .The thing that takes the longest is picking out the songs. If only I could just burn MY music that I uploaded with my OWN CDS onto an mp3 cd.... grrrr STUPID ITUNES nothing wrong with virtual cd though!!!
Summary
Bottom line. Itunes sucks. This is what I needed. Hmm, now wondering if it will mount on win7 better than daemon... will make edit if necessary, but as well put together as this product seems, I'm likely to buy it. The entire process took about 2 minutes, to burn a playlist, and re-rip to mp3. I'm very happy. Also, I'll note that it looks to be very nice for splitting (and possibly encrypting, I didnt look that far into it) and password protecting files that you may need to write to a virtual disc that can be later mounted, while leaving no physical copy of the information. Awesome. ,

version 9 worked well, thought that version 10 would be better. All it does is offer Blue-Ray support and Windows 7, forces you to upgrade. I paid for a 5 license version but was able to only install on my netbook with Windows 7 starter.
Cons
It will not install on Windows 7 Home Premium, with some kind of SCSI driver error. The support site was too complicated. Reinstalled 3 times.no use....switched over to Daemon tools Lite which was free.
Summary
I usually mount 1 or 2 discs only. So if I had known sooner I would have used Daemon Tools Lite. Virtual CD version 10 interface was too complicated and simply did not install on Windows 7 Home Premium, weird.

Virtual CD creates images of your optical media (CD, DVD, HD-DVD, Blu Ray), so you can use them at any time without having the physical medium on hand. Your data is available exactly as if the medium was in the drive, without the disadvantages attendant, for example, on network shares. The images created can be stored on a server to enable simultaneous access by multiple users. When creating an image, you have the option of selecting the level of compression and, if desired, even encryption. You get maximum availability of your data, while lost, damaged and stolen media become a thing of the past. Virtual CD 10 goes beyond the classic CD and DVD formats and allows virtualization and virtual burning of Blu-ray and HD DVD media as well. With the new data safe mode, encrypted drives can be created automatically. This makes it easy to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access.
