  File"C:\some.iso" cannout be mounted. It is not a supported file format. The MD5 checksum of my iso is correct (unless the vendor is shipping a bad iso)

• Basics kind of work, but dangerously buggy.

  Pros

  Can mount and access an ISO contents without having to extract it. Can create an encrypted folder for storing private data. It is expandable storage too, not a fixed-size volume like so many others.

  Cons

  1) BSOD CRASH: One feature in the Mount Control window is very dodgy. Just right-click a listed file and choose 'Properties'. Result = BSOD every time. (XP Pro V-Box and XP Pro full system). 2) Tried "Create SMX" feature to create a self mounting ISO. The resulting exe file would not run, gave error message. 3) The encrypted folder is a great idea if it's solid, but as it's proprietary software, how do we know?   Summary

  As I really wanted this to work, I tested 3 source files, this site's v159, and 2 copies from elsewhere of the latest version 166. All have the same bugs. Should I trust the encrypted folder to be solid when the rest isn't....I think probably not. And getting a guaranteed BSOD just from clicking on Properties is a deal-breaker anyway.<br /><br /><span class='notifyMsg'> Updated </span>on May 14, 2013<p/>Works OK in Win-7 (x64). No BSOD fault. The convenience of an expandable encrypted folder is really hard to pass up. Happy user now.

  Pros

  The download was easy and installed fine and has worked well. It has additional features I have yet to use and is more than I expected. Good product!

  Cons

  The additional features are unclear and a very small amount of the applications is obvious. But this lack of knowing is most likely 90% my own ignorance of the entire package of which I was not looking to use.

  Pros

  I needed to mount a 7GB .iso and was able to download and use this program within 3 minutes. It happened so fast and so smoothly

  The documentation could be a little more verbose. I didn't know what I was doing at first. Only took me 30 seconds and common sense to figure it out though!

  I wanted to install the Visual Studio Profession 2010 Trial. I downloaded the ISO from Microsoft, mounted it with the defaults. It would not install at all, the very first item failed. I tried fiddling with read-only and permissions options and remounting, but no luck. I pulled in Daemon Tools Lite instead, and that worked first try.

  Well integrated into the right-click context menu offering 2 choices: Quick mount for everyday usage and Mount to select advanced features. Its very practical and environment friendly since it lets you access the content without burning it first.

  Pros

  For me just that it worked for what I hoped to do. I had a movie file which would not play since it was incomplete. So using this tool, I was able to somehow mount the file (whatever that means) and play it.

  Cons

  I am a novice and so I guessed at how to use it. Not sure exactly if any cons.

  Pros

  Tiny resources footprint. Works as described for ISO and ZIP file formats (I did not test other formats). Simple to use. Does not use up drive letters.

  Cons

  Caused BSoD crash on XP at end of installation (though the system and program both seem to work fine after a reboot). Highly limited number of supported file format types (won't work with RAR or 7Z files for example).

  Summary

  I picked up this program to mount ACHD DVD ISO image files (something my usual virtual drive software, Virtual CloneDrive, does not do, because of the HD format). Installation went perfectly smoothly right up until the end. When the installation finished and the installer came up to its last page (with a close/finish button), my system crashed with a Blue Screen of Death error (I'm running Windows XP). I was hoping, since it was at the end of the installation process, that the program would have been successfully installed, despite the crash, and I am pleased to say that is, in fact, the case. I have not tried out all features of the program, but it does very quickly and easily mount ISO and ZIP files as a file folder (not a drive) in it's original location. For someone like myself running multiple hard drive partitions and virtual drives simultaneously, having this program not use up any more drive letters is a great feature. Once mounted, the file/image can be explored as though it were a normal file folder on the hard drive, and the contents can be accessed freely by any program that has the capability of exploring or opening files. Files can also be mounted as read-only or read/write, and presumably if allowed write access, you could change the contents of the archive/image, though I haven't tested this. Right-Click context menus are installed to allow you to mount and unmount files, and mounted files have their icon changed into a file folder icon with a big blue arrow on the right side of the icon (very easy to recognize). This newly accessible folder can be navigated as any normal folder in the file system, and it is mounted at the location path of the original file or image that was mounted. On the whole, the program has great potential, and it certainly did for me what I needed it to do (though my purposes were limited), but I can only give it an average rating because of its flaws and drawbacks. The system crash on installation is unacceptable, and having the program work anyway does not change that fact. The list of supported file types is, in my opinion, far too small, and the program would be much better if it could mount other image and archive file types, such as RAR or IMG (just to name a couple of the many popular ones). Nevertheless, if you need a program to mount an HD DVD or Blu-Ray image in an ISO format, it works spectacularly well once it's installed, and it uses almost no system resources whatsoever. I'll be keeping this program around.
