This application easily generates keyboard- and mouse-based macros, but the advanced interface may scare off novice users. Macro ToolsWorks Standard has a clean but complex interface. Those new to macro creation will do well to read the very informative help file. Macro creation is surprisingly easy with the wizard function. Users create macros defined by text entry, hot key, mouse movement, or by preset time. The application uses a basic scripting language to build macros, or the recording function creates the macro on the fly. Editing the result is a simple matter of changing the macro raw-source text. Users can share or run macros over a home or office network. We appreciated the automatic program demo that begins on installation. Users wishing to create macros from scratch will find the included samples informative. All users wishing to create macros will find Macro ToolsWorks Standard robust and simple to use. Novices and those unfamiliar with scripting languages will appreciate the wizard and instruction file.

What’s new in version 8.6.1

Added new _vCursorPosX and _vCursorPosY system variables that contains position of the blinking edit text cursor.
Fixed the problem when a text shortcut was not recognized after a mistype was corrected using back space.
