Play a different startup sound each time you start Windows.

BmpZip 2012 is a small utility that I originally wrote back in the early days of Windows when everyone was playing with wallpapers and sound files. Disks were small and expensive back then so having a lot of wallpapers and sound files ate up a lot of disk space.

So I wrote a program that would work with a zip file of bmp files and unzip one and make it the wallpaper. I ran this as a startup program so every time I booted I got a new wallpaper. I later added in sound files and this gave me a new startup sound each day.

Over the years disks have gotten larger and cheaper so the need for this program does not really exist. But I do like having a new sound file play when I boot up my computer so that is what it does now. It just looks in a specified directory of files and plays one.

Simple, but it amuses me.
