Restrict an area of your desktop from icons or maximized screens with this small, confusing program. After installation, you are asked to drag and drop the DesktopCoral icon on any side of your screen and right-click the window. From there, choose Options to select the docking position of the reserved area (top, bottom, left, or right), determine the dock width and height, set the transparency, and select a background image. Although the publisher claims setting the transparency at 0 allows you to place shortcuts in the restricted area, we couldn't get that feature to work in our tests. In fact, the only option that worked without a hitch was changing the dock width and height. It's freeware, but with its glitches and the time you'll have to spend trying to figure it out, this program may not be worth the price.
