Frequent cut-and-pasters will love M8 Free Clipboard's ability to manage many clips at once as well as its pop-up previews, hotkeys, and multiple paste options. It saves and organizes up to 500 clips. A pop-up control panel lets you organize and annotate multiple Sheets full of clips. Video tutorials, forums, and a quick start guide make M8 Free Clipboard easy to learn.
Views and previews: Though M8 Free Clipboard only holds 30 clips per Sheet, it supports multiple Sheets and holds up to 500 clips total. Large previews make it easy to tell clips apart.
Hotkey and Macro Clips: Views 9 and 10 hold lists of hotkeys and macro clips, though, as with Sheets, the free version limits storage.
Pictures: The Pictures menu lets you browse and paste images directly from your files or on a single sheet.
Paste: M8 Free Clipboard's Paste menu has more than 20 commands, including cases, cells, sources, and custom buttons. You can even paste directly to HTML editors and DOS.
Limitations and upgrades: M8 Free Clipboard's limitations over its premium version, Spartan Clipboard, won't matter to the average user who usually only handles a few clips at a time. But some users object to sales pitches, so we're mentioning it.
M8 Free Clipboard's preview pane is more than enough to recommend it over other multi-clip managers (at least, those that aren't also free versions of Spartan). But any Windows user can benefit from an upgrade over the built-in Clipboard.
