Still not for the faint of heart, this torrent utility is one of the easiest to use. The uTorrent executable adds a directory and some option information to your PC, but it is still small enough to run off an old USB key.
The memory footprint for uTorrent is very small, and system resources are barely touched. Our testers found that IP phones were difficult to use with a torrent, but uTorrent's simple button interface makes it easy to pause downloading.
The most difficult aspect of using a torrent client is finding the torrents, but included are both a torrent search bar that links to MiniNova and a handy RSS feed download function. Subscribe to select feeds, and uTorrent automatically downloads files as they publish. Adding, starting, pausing, and listing torrents takes merely a click or two each. A speed guide helps you test your ports and adjust system settings for optimal performance.
This is the first version since uTorrent was bought by BitTorrent, and there are some tried-and-true BitTorrent options available, such as Local Peer Discovery and DHT Network. uTorrent isn't overwhelmed with bells and whistles, but it includes enough features to make it the torrent program of choice for novices, intermediate, and advanced users.
Publisher's description
From uTorrent :uTorrent is a powerful and efficient BitTorrent client for Windows. Most of the features present in other BitTorrent clients are present in uTorrent, including bandwidth prioritization, scheduling, RSS auto-downloading, and Mainline DHT. Additionally, uTorrent supports the protocol encryption joint specification and peer exchange. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources--typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all.
Version 1.6 build 474 improves download/upload speeds, better handling of BitComets in the swarm, and a totally revamped disk caching system to protect your hard drives.

Version: uTorrent 1.6 build 474
Pros: I had used the original bittorent for a while. After I couldn't even look up things on my own computer, my friend reminded me about utorrent. It takes up very little resources and it is very easy to use. All I have to do is open a torrent file in it, and click "Ok." It has separate tabs for torrents in the same states like: Active; Completed; Downloading; Inactive. This is helpful to sort all of your torrents.
Cons: None.

Version: uTorrent 1.6 build 474
"Does everything right this time around"
Pros: Excellent performance. Uses less than 3 MB of RAM at most usually. Very stable. Has most of the features of any other client within this footprint including some Easter Eggs(not bad ones, good ones like ability to use an ipfilter.dat file, eliminating need for products like Peer Guardian). Accurate stats reporting and good hash checks. Respects private flag. Most of all, it finally respects your hard disk using a good disk cache, unlike earlier versions. This makes the client go from near perfect with a fatal flaw to as close to perfection as any BT client has ever achieved.

Version: uTorrent 1.6 build 474
Pros: First off i have a 4mb comcast cable internet connection. With this torrent program i downloaded at the highest speed (700kbs) that i have ever downloaded. The highest i ever got with Bitcomet was 300kbs and that was with a 8mb comcast connection. Its very small and uses very little memory. Great All Around Program.
Cons: I can honestly say none.

Version: uTorrent 1.6 build 474
Pros: Has only the things I need in it. None of the extra bulk or "features" that I don't know how to use and will never need. Lightweight and dependable. You can download torrents, which is all I do with my program, but you can also make your own and a few other handy things. =)
Cons: None that I know of. Doesn't have many added bells and whistles (at least none that I use) so for those that are into that, might not want this.
