Facebook for Android presents a mobile version of the popular social network with a few phone-only features.

Pros

Connect with friends: After you sign in, the app pulls in all your Facebook information, turning your phone into a miniature Facebook feed. Follow posts, like comments, share updates -- just like you would with the desktop version.

Nicely designed: In many ways, the mobile app does a nicer job of presenting all the information Facebook has to offer, with feeds, videos, news, and events neatly displayed on separate tabs.

Facebook Live: Live is specific to the mobile app and lets you share a live video stream with your followers and groups or share from events. During the live stream, see viewer comments and respond. Then, following the broadcast, the recorded stream will appear in your feed.

Privacy settings: You can review and adjust privacy and account settings in the app, but the settings are stowed five taps away from the main tab.

Marketplace: Check out stuff for sale in your area. Browse through items or search by category. Tap an item to see a description, see the general location of the seller, send a message, and make an offer. You can also sell items.

Notifications: Quickly view birthdays, events, recent photos and posts, and friend requests.

Cons

Separate messaging: To chat with Facebook friends, you need to download Messenger, which on Android is a separate app from Facebook.

Catch-all drawer: Favorites, groups, and connected apps are gathered together in a navigation drawer on the right.

Bottom Line

Facebook for Android lets you follow news from your social network via an easy-to-navigate app. The app fits in phone-only features such as Live but leaves out Messenger, Android's top messaging app.

Works like facebook on a desktop.
Cons
You will download everyone of your friends from your facebook contacts to your mobile contacts and you will not be able to edit your contacts anymore.

Pros
I liked the idea of being able to upload more than one picture... if I now could. It works okay as a reader and seemed marginally better than the previous release.
Cons
I can no longer directly upload photos. It tries twice and then errors out. I never had this problem before.
Summary
I have to post pictures via third party now or go back to the old version that came on my phone two years ago.
Suddenly it does not work at (as with so many others)

What pros? It does not work anymore for past 4 to 5 weeks (since mid-May 2012)!! Argh!!!
Cons
Quit working .. tried uninstalling, reinstalling, etc. Has quit loading and just spins like an idiot forever. It started with the updates in mid-May. Noticed many others in same predicament. Hello! Facebook? Get your heads out of your IPO arses!!!!

Pros
I love having facebook on my android. Having facebook at your finger tips is so nice and handy.
Cons
After updating my app it quit working completely so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it but now it wont reinstall. It says cannot download due to error 941.

1.You can do most of the ordinary stuff and still chat 2.The interface is clean 3.Gives you Proper Updates about you Facebook Account

1. Often the chat does not work properly 2. The app is slower compared to other Similar apps, Such as Twitter 3.Sometimes gives you the same notification Twice

i had facebook for android on my phone when they fixed it and come back out with a better one, was using it on my skyrocket and then after update i used it phone started blinking and will not work at all!!!

Great way to keep up to date with your facebook account and report your whacky ways of life latest version 1.7 is better than before as scrolling was terrible.
Cons
On HTC Wildfire it has low memory so it takes a lot up about 7mb and it wont stay closed when you exit, still runs in the background when you turn on your 3G or Wi-fi network it loads up automatically by its self and sends you updates if there enabled. The powering up without my permission is the one thing I hate would also be good if you could move it to memory card.
