ooVoo Video Chat is a free iOS app that lets you have up to 12 participants in a text and video chat session on Facebook. The app installs easily and lets you see four chat participants at one time (scrolling to other screens to see the rest), or you can zoom in on one participant while maintaining a small window showing your feed.
To use ooVoo Video Chat, you log into Facebook; you can ping anyone else who is also logged in. You have the ability to initiate text chat with some people, even while video chatting with others at the same time. A search capability lets you find which of your friends has a copy of ooVoo Video Chat installed and is online. The ooVoo Video Chat interface takes just a few seconds to get familiar with, and initiating a call is easy after the first one. Since ooVoo Video Chat relies on VoIP, there is some lag with voice and video, but nothing surprising to an experienced VoIP user.
We tried ooVoo Video Chat with several video sessions and found it to be solid and that it worked as expected. While we suspect this app is ideal for teens and young adults, we did end up using it for a couple of conference calls (although not every business person will have a Facebook account). ooVoo Video Chat is an interesting app that gives you a lot more flexibility than other video chat apps.

"ooVoo rocks......."

Pros
Great quality of video clarity when I video chat. The six way chat session is very good and I use it at least once a week to connect with my family and the best part about it is I can take the call from anywhere since the mobile app was released.
Cons
The only con at the moment is that my fiance had to upgrade to the iphone since her old phone did not have a front facing camera.
Summary
It is a great app and like the prior reviewer wrote....if you are have problems with the video chat it is most likely the mobile connection vs the application.
I enjoy ooVoo and am happy my family and I get to connect like this since we cannot have our family dinners anymore. -

I have been using ooVoo's mobile app since it was released. Don't read into the false reviews that the app has faults. There are no faults with the application...if you use your mobile phone like I do it is the wireless signal not the app.

None at the moment...wish all the FALSE reviews would stop...which are most likely employees from ooVoo's competitors that are upset that this product was not theirs.

There are no faults with the application...if you use your mobile phone like I do it is the wireless signal not the app. The mobile app works great on WiFi and may be a bit better than 3G or 4G since they have some bugs but the carries won't say that in their commercials.
