Pros
Extremely impressive feature list for free software: unlimited file browsing and extraction from iTunes backups (corrupt or not), has it's own backup utilities, syncing capabilities, extract or install .ipa of any of your apps...it's really comprehensive and the raw file browser itself is even snappier than iFunBox's which is the best around.
There are some features I'd never need: a phone "optimizer" that clears temp stuff, etc. But one thing I appreciate about this program is the more "filler" features like that don't cramp the application at all. They don't feel "in the way" like with many other programs. Most stuff is easy to find.
Best of all: I had a borked iTunes backup that I couldn't restore to my phone no matter what I did (failed at 100% saying phone disconnected). When I used iTools to do the restore, it also failed, but it then gave me an option to restore contacts, SMS database, call logs, etc to the phone. It actually worked, though some SMS stuff was a bit funky.
Cons
The translation is terrible. I downloaded the latest from their official site (which I'd recommend everyone do) but it took me a while to find the english installer and there are some really funky, poorly translated menu elements (for example, one "Accept" button says "Prompt"). As a result of this ****** translation in some places, it can be hard to understand what some things are for or how to do particular actions; worse than that, error messages can be impossible to understand. Luckily, there are almost none.
Summary
I wouldn't DL this off cnet, but it's vastly superior to pretty much every iTunes alternative management program out there (and free, ***). Pair this with iFunBox 2014 version and you can do basically everything.

Pros
Great sync and backup tool
Cons
won't run since Itunes upgraded. It says please load the latest version (which doesn't match the current latest version.) So software is out of date!!!
Summary
Don't download this unless you are running older Itunes software!! 2015 version is too new for this app!!!

Pros
Perhaps a good program but installed a bunch of other software without my permission. It was packaged into the itools. Very misleading. Nothing good about this software.
SHAME on CNET for allowing this. How did you gave it editor's grade without even going through the installation. If you did, you would have seen that they installed a bunch of other malware.
Cons
Made in china. installed other software as part of package without warning. Hated it.

Pros
it will allow me to view photos from my iphone
Cons
it would not allow me to view my iphone live, which was why I downloaded it and like I mentioned in the title, the moment after downloading it, I started getting pop up ads and stuff, I thought downloads from cnet.com were safe. I guess I was wrong
Summary
Updated on Jan 2, 2015
I was afraid the program immediately asking me for an update was possibly adware, especially since it wouldn't allow me to do anything but click update. Then the ad popped up. But now it looks like the ad belongs to itools, the ad disappears when I close itools. Also, I went ahead and did the update and the live feed works, but it is so small I doubt I'll use it

Pros
Easy, efficient, virus and bug free, fast download, GOT the job done, FREE!!!!
Cons
None that I can see so far
Summary
Been looking for an easy way (and inexpensive way) $10 range, to download some files from an old iphone to the PC. Have literally wasted 3 hours of my time. Then I decided to look on cnet despite my hesitations from a past bad download experience (a bad case of a virus that CNET let get through) ... anyhow, I used CNET's filters to limit the search to Windows and free and looked at the highest rated software. Downloaded iTools and within 5 minutes had the files that I needed. AWESOME and THANK YOU.... Did I say THANK YOU?
Oh by the way.... THANK YOU :)

Pros
I was struggling to find a free app that could help me export all the iPhone contacts. icloud.com only sync with less than half the contact I have, while copytrans only allows me to export 50 contacts. This allowed me to export all 413 contacts so that I can then import it to my iPhone. Very good app to move contacts.
Cons
Ummmm not quite sure about cons. Didn't run into any trouble using iTools.
Summary
If you need to export all your iPhone contact, this is the (free) way to go.

Pros
I realize that this is kind of late for the poster above, but hopefully it may help someone else who runs into a similar problem. I also got a message which read: "Unable to ascertain the compatibility of iTunes. Please check out Internet".
This happened immediately after I upgraded iTunes from version 11.2.0 to version 11.4.0. I searched for a solution online, and quickly realized that I needed to uninstall iTunes 11.4.0 and download and install iTunes 11.2.0, which was easily accomplished. I also really dislike iTunes, but it seems as if it has to be on my computer in order for iTools to work. I am using iTools 1.8.4.6 and iTunes 11.2 on my Windows 7 computer, and iOS Version 7.1.2 on my iPhone 5, and it works perfectly. I have not upgraded my iPhone 5 to iOS 8.0.2 because I don't know if it will have an adverse effect on the version of iTools that I am using.
Cons
As stated above, the developer is Chinese and it is difficult to understand much of what is going on on their website, even using Google Translate. At the present time, however, it does not seem to be possible to import anything into the Camera Roll of an iPhone, but one can import photos from a computer into other photo albums on their iPhone.
Summary
This little program is truly amazing for moving music, videos, photos, etc. very easily and quickly from my iPhone to my computer, or from my computer to my iPhone. The fact that it has a very simple to use, but very effective built in Ringtone Maker makes this program even more valuable.

Pros
1. Allows one to retrieve *anything* from one's iPhone! It burrows within the apps, so that even if the app doesn't ostensibly allow the export of files except through some email or facebook dump, one may simply gather teh files from within the apps file structure itself. A *very* handy feature for those wishing to gather media generated on the phone, without using some intermediary step (especially as the email function can stall if one doesn't use teh default Apple mail client).
2. Screen access - brilliant for demonstrating to students or others - via video-link, screen-sharing/recording or in-class lessons.
3. App screen - move your apps around without having to do the tedious wobbling app process - fast, easy and accurate.
4. All of the other features are efficient and handy for accessing the variety of features that a phone offers. It even has a built in ringtone maker. In short, it turns a handy phone into a complete power tool.
Cons
1. The developer is Chinese, and so is the "support" page. It is a minor quibble from someone who doesn't read Chinese, but there is enough documentation in English to help me make the most of the tool.
2. No obvious way to pay the dude some cash for building this top shelf tool.
Summary
In short, this tool is so handy it is unbelievable. I have found myself clapping with joy each time I use a new feature. I haven't found one aspect of it that hasn't worked perfectly. I just hope that it isn't a droid for unscrupulous masters. Whatever teh case may be, I keep using this brilliant tool. I can't believe that it's free, but I am really glad that it is. If I could find a way to Donate, I would.
I fully recommend this tool and offer three cheers to the developer. Well done!!
