From HRL Technologies :To unlock the emoji keyboard, launch the app, hold iPhone tilted to ear and wait for the beep, say "Enable the emoji keyboard", you should receive a notification that emoji's are activated. To use the emoji keyboard, go to the iPhone International Keyboards in Settings, go to Japanese, then check to see that Emoji is turned ON. Now you can just tap the globe icon in the iPhone's systemwide keyboard (left of space bar) to choose the emoji/emoticon characters at anytime in SMS, Email, and notes.
