Publisher's description
From Andrei Gourianov :Organize and add space to your computer's desktop by creating up to 80 virtual screen pages. Run each application, or group of applications on a separate screen. Never minimize any of the applications, never close any of them. When you switch screen pages, all running Windows programs just disappear from the screen and from the taskbar, but they are right there waiting when you switch back.
Version 5.4.0.198 adds expose, UMPC scroll bar, command line interface, and improves support of multiple monitor systems.

Pros: Things I like about goscreen:
Flexible! The author really listens to his users, and has created many ways of interfacing with the software. Keyboard freak? Your covered with global hotkeys, with combinations including the Win key. eg - Ctrl-Alt-Win-R More mouse centric? You can assign mouse gestures.
Value! 28USD is very affordable and that includes lifetime updates. Can't argue with that!
Stable! It only uses about 4-5 megs of ram and I can count on one hand the amount of times it has caused my computer to crash. (I use Vista!) It really hasn't been a problem. Compare that to google desktop that at times baloons out to 300 megs or some of the latest .net code.
Multi-monitor! Independent virtual desktops. 5 each monitor. Enough said.
It truly is a well written piece of software, a diamond in the rough.
A lot of the time while using you will be thinking "wouldn't it be cool if it could do such and such" and 95% per cent of the time it can.
Cons: There's really nothing major that comes to mind. Anyone who doesn't like the software didn't spend enought time teaching it their workflow. A few very minor quibbles with some of the interface for configuration but that's about it. The only reason you notice is because the rest of the software is just so damn sublime.
It does it's job and does it well.

"simple effective solution for multiple virtual windows"
Pros: i run this every day when I'm working (software development) and have done so ever since my primary work machine changed a few years ago from a UNIX workstation with virtual windows to the latest stable professional-level windows OS (nt/, xp) on a laptop.
The number of application windows I run at a time tends to grow to about 20 each day and this tool solves the problem of clutter, as any good virtual window utility should do. I originally chose this one a few years ago and I haven't felt a need to look elsewhere since then.
You'll begin by saving the unzipped package to a folder and then taking some time to configure it to your liking - how many virtual windows do you want? would you like to see a graphic map of them in grid layout along the edge of your monitor? would you like to give each vw a unique color, hotkey, etc?
Once it's setup (I see a 1x5 grid along the bottom of my monitor), you can quickly switch views/grids, move applications between grids, see what applications, by small icons, are in each vw, cause some applications to show in all grids, etc.
If you decide to pay for it after you've tried it for free, you'll get an email about once a year (estimated) that announces a new release - free to you - which usually offers a few tweaks and maybe support for yet another language.
I consider this software stable. I recommend it. I have no reason to write this positive review other than I'm a content user and the vendor's latest email about a new release included a request for users to consider writing a review.
