As long as you're careful during installation, gPhotoShow creates an enjoyable screensaver from your files at no cost. The app's developer attempts to bundle a third-party toolbar, but you can opt out of it if you wish. You build the screensaver through the Settings button on the Display control panel's Screen Saver window. Settings fall into four main areas: images, image options, advanced options, and sounds. The first tab lets you select folders from which to pull images, adjust the delay between images, and set transition speed. The next tab offers such options as individual transition effects on an extensive list and the ability to display filenames and file dates. The advanced option of setting the last image as your wallpaper turns the program into a convenient way to browse your image folders for good backgrounds. You can add entire folders of music files, and the program will count up the valid MIDI, WAV, MP3, and WMA files for you. The program doesn't create an EXE or SCR file, so you can't use it to create distributable screensavers. Still, home users on a budget may find gPhotoShow attractive.Publisher's description

Pros: Does a good job.

Version: gPhotoShow 1.6.2
Pros: This is an excellent product, with many ways to customize your display. Size, intervals between pictures, transitions, file names (on or off) and many other features make this a winner. I've used it on an old Windows 98 PC and now on a Vista PC and have gotten the same fine results.
