Everything you love about the Zagat Survey comes to your Windows Mobile smartphone--the comprehensive list of fine restaurants in your city, the ratings for food, decor, ambiance, and a listing for average price per person. There are also, of course, the pithy user-generated descriptions that the Zagat Survey has claimed as its hallmark.
Version 6.0 vastly improves upon the surprisingly elementary interface of the previous version with a comelier aesthetic. Usability has also seen improvements in the form of a Favorites list to dog-ear establishments. Equally welcome is the addition of ratings and cost information to top level search results and sorting filters. A drop-down menu eases the transition between search categories for a city (restaurants, nightlife, golf) and another button marked "Change" switches easily between metropolitan areas.
While the app does an adequate job mapping a location, getting directions, and initiating a call, Version 6.0 is still inexplicably absent of a useful hyperlink to the restaurant's Web site and the capability to SMS a listing to a pal--not a worry if you're content with adding e-mail addresses manually.)

Version: Zagat to Go for Windows Mobile Smartphone 7.0
Pros: Conceptually the capabilities make sense; searching by location; limiting by cuisine, etc.
Cons: But the application is just very slow, it doesn't find logical intersections, and isn't clear, based on the descriptions, how often updates are done. Not clear that its worth the money.
Summary: Not ready to buy it until the performance improves and updates are clear.
